Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Laird must have delivered a fish and Lady is feeding her young ones and getting some herself.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
They've just homed in on Laird on one of his favourite trees. Very windy there.
Lady seems to have gone for a break. Two youngsters fast asleep on the nest.
She's back and preening on her favourite perch.
I didn't think they ever ringed the Ospreys at Loch of Lowes - the policy of the SWT has usually been not to interfere in any way.
Does anyone know differently?
Don't know, sorry.
Lady is now on her favourite perch again, looking at the Loch - don't blame her - it's a lovely view!
I have only just noticed how big the nest is from a distance. Here is Lady looking around.
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Here is the official response
Osprey Team says:
Yes osprey chicks at Loch of the Lowes were ringed for several years previously, but it was discontinued a few years ago. Emma

Hi all
It has been a good day watching LOTL today, I noticed Lady's call is stronger, and she looks so much stronger, and must say watching the chicks walking about made me smile - remember Billy Conolly in his banana boots ??? - their talons look huge !!
Love seeing the Laird on his tree keeping his beady eye on things.
Regards to all
Loved those banana boots, Lofty.... The youngsters do look comical sometimes, they have difficulty walking with their claws on the nest, and are all the wrong shape!
