Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Good morning Annette and all thanks for the reports during the night. One big fish delivered and Lady and her chicks have eaten. She is looking even more alert this morning, sitting on her perch above the nest looking all around. Wonderful yesterday to hear her in nagging mode, who would have thought we would ever hear and see her again. Peter at LOtL seems even more positive for her her this morning. What a remarkeable fight back from whatever was ailing her.

She is still sitting on her perch as I come on this morning, and looking I think, so much better. It must be a relief to her to feel more 'normal' and managing to eat again, she could well get most of her strength back now and will be able to see her chicks mature and fledge. Wonderful.
Morning all, glad to see everything OK here and that Lady?Marge has received fish deliveries already.
All quiet on the nest at present, lovely to see Lady up and about again.

Those youngsters look hot - sun must be out.
Good morning Lynette so far so good for Lady. Peter added a bit to his earlier post today saying he spoken to several vets and none of them had ever seen an osprey looking like Lady did at the weekend. As I type she is feeding a chick, the other one seems stuffed. I think she is eating some herself but hard to see as she has her back to the camera. The chick that is not eating has just had a good wing flap showing us how large those wings are getting.

He " immediately" took over when he saw her face down on the nest and did the fishing , feeding and guarded the nest. Without his diligence the chicks would have suffered or perished without food for 4 days. The Laird and Odin are both Super Birds !! This amazing story will go into the Osprey history books

You are right Barbara Jean the Laird is on a par with Odin for me. He quickly realsed that she was not able to feed her chicksand stepped until she recovered, and amazingly he seemed to know the time was right to let her feed her chicks again.

Heron 77 thanks for the capture. It makes my heart just burst watching her recover a little more each day.

Yes, I've read the blog, its all very interesting and of course keeps us up to date with events.
Lady called for a fish for a while and the Laird obeyed and came in with a good size one. One chick being fed but the other chick not interested at the moment but that could change. Still seems wonderful to see Lady able to d this again and her nagging quite strong again. I believe this might be fifth fish today so htat might explain why one of them is not interested.
