Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
I do believe she is eating. This is a miracle
She;s found her voice again. The wee ones are tucking into a small fish on their own.

The male has now flown away - she is looking at the chicks, who have grabbed the whole fish and are attacking it as best they can..... she is still food soliciting, and looking around.
The Laird delivered a fish. He left it on the nest. Lady is food soliciting while the two chicks are struggling with the fish. Lady is not feeding them or herself
EDIT The chicks are sharing nicely with each taking an end of the fish. Lady is still calling for food. Maybe she won't take fish from the chicks. I know when the chicks at LG are learning to feed themselves EJ won't get involved . I hope the male brings another fish for Lady

This is fantastic everyone, i think she gave a wee morsel to one of the chicks and had a couple of bites herself :o)
is it a fish??? Oh aye it is is moving eeeek lol Madge not making any attempt to assist the chicks though
The picture keeps breaking up - but those chicks are hungry enough to keep at it, so thank goodness for that, as I'm sure the male will now keep supplying fish whatever happens, so they will have to get what they can as best as they can. Lady is still shouting a little, and just standing there It was hard to see if/how much fish she took when it first arrived.....
Well, I only just got the cam back and Laird had brought a fish; Saw Lady nosing around by it but didn't actually see her eat but that may have happened before I arrived. Now chicks appear to be feeding themselves and Lady is calling. Let's see what happens.
The chicks are side by side, tearing away at the fish, and struggling a little with the harder bits to cope with....
I couldn't believe it when I read on the F/book pages that Lady Marge had FLOWN... she is still standing in the nest, having the audacity to preen herself. To be perfectly honest - if you had been on Mars for a long weekend, you would never know there had been a problem!
Fish has just come in, but Marge is just standing back and letting the chicks feed themselves... Marge just calling out... a distress call, or just the usual 'get more fish'? Certainly not sure if Marge has eaten any of the fish that was just delivered...
