Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
They are showing us a very good close-up of her now.
Thank you Lynette.
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Evening everyone. I thought you might like to read this report in our local paper obviously written before Peter could confirm whether the male would feed the chicks or not.

Hope the link works and you can read the article.
Good grief: Lady is up and has flown to the branch at the back of the nest!!
She wants to fly. She has flapped her way onto the branch which extends away from the nest.
She has flown.

Will we ever see her again?
OMG Lady just flew away
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
OMG. I can't believe it!! She looked fairly strong as she went; did not topple over the side but went toward the lake where the cam followed until she was out of sight. Oh my. Talk about a cliffhanger!
She nearly did that about an hour ago!!! Her eyes were open and she had got into a state just like now!!!!
I think she'd love to fly but sadly can't. The Lady of the Loch has wonderful qualities. Her battling spirit is amazing. A few minutes ago one of the chicks momentarily had one of its wings spread over mum, before she suffled her body for a moment to get the wing removed. She is a lot more alert looking but I'm sad to say that close ups tell us that she is seriously ill. The fact that she hardly has her eyes fully opened and she can't seem to be able to fully refold her wings. Still the Lady of the Loch is fighting to the last.
