Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
I agree totally Cirrus and you are not being hard on me at all I am dealing with the situation in a much better way today. She is sitting up with her head held proudly at the moment. As you say it is not over until it is.

Pleased you have so quickly changed your mind about your decision not to post on here any more!
Just like you, I have every right to express my view in this forum.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Yes you're right VALC, its the dehydration. Four days now so there's definitely no hope. Whilst its sad, we must remember her age. There's nothing that anyone could or SHOULD do except let nature takes its course. hopefully the male can carry on feeding the wee ones. They told us at the centre that one of the chicks was yanking i fish from the bone itself this morning so its all positve so far, for the chicks.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
Thank you Soosin and Valc for your sensible and pragmatic observations.
It looks like Lady is asking for food. Laird is feeding the chicks, he seems to offer her some now and then but she's not taking it , so gives it to the chicks., but she is calling now.

Laird has flown off but can't see whether any fish was left behind. The youngsters seem to be eating something so maybe he left some for them to work it out for themselves, if you see what I mean, I get word tied and it gets a bit mixed up.!!!!
Just had another wing stretch and is standing at present, getting some exercise. The chicks are wondering what she is doing.
Marge got into quite a state there and I thought she was going to fly. Her eyes were open and she came over and I am almost certain she took 2 bites of the fish at 5.12 pm. Of course I didn't remember to record it until the moment was past!!!
Unknown said: It's good that you are keeping positive Margobird but the sensible thing is to wait and see if Peter or a member of staff at the center at LoTL actually puts in print that Lady has eaten something. Until that happens we need to know that she hasn't. We are all so eager and eyes will see what they want to see - it's human nature. I'm not intending to be hard on you Margo - there are a lot of posts - i've had a trawl myself - but the only post that really counts is an Official one as far as I am concerned. But I am keeping positive too and it isn't over till it's over. OK?

Likw you, we would all like her to survive but.............until she starts eating again and its confirmed then we have to fear the worst but it is good that she has been exercising her wings and standing up for short spells today, its almost as if she wants to hang on a little longer for the sake of the chicks.
At present Lady keeps looking around as well as skywards, probably wanting Laird to come back with food. One of the chicks is calling.
I must go and get the dinner ready, will catch up later.
