Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Lynette I have been watching virtually all morning and not once has she collapsed into the position she was in for Saturday and most of Sunday. You just can't help marvelling at her for still looking after her chicks by giving them shelter from the sun.
Margobird
Ok, and that's wonderful Margobird - I'm just not going to hold my breath. Was it on the 21st Blog comments? or the Officail 21st Blog ?
Cirrus it is on the official LOtL blog but there are a lot of posts on there now so took me a while to plough through them. I thought I was losing my marbles as they say. It is probably clutching at straws but there has been a bit of a miracle today so maybe there will be another.
Lady has just had a big wing flap exercise and has moved down from the top of the nest to just in front of camera view. Her chicks are exploring and she is also trying to shield them from the sun.

I am watching her now and she is sitting and looking around!!
She was on the Scottish News lunchtime. They were saying that she is being watched World Wide!
Come on Lady!, Come on!! You are a strong Lady so fight and get well!!
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
WOW!!! She was using her wings and they seemed strong OOOOH it looks as if she is testing them to fly!!!!
She is even standing up strong!!
This bird is not strong. She has not eaten, and therefore had no fluids, since Friday! Surely we must be pragmatic in the face of the true situation - part of our interest in wildlife has to be acceptance of life itself, and that includes death.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Original.
I KNOW she has not eaten and I KNOW she is not strong!! I meant she is stronger than she has been!!!
I even KNOW that she might die .Please do not patronise me!!! I shall not comment on here anymore!! I will leave it for the "experts"
I was just so excited to see her stand for a while.
Oh, grow up, Sandra! I am no "expert", but I believe Peter at LotL is, and I therefore believe and trust what he says, which is that the old bird probably only has until tomorrow evening before dying of dehydration.
