Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Cirrus was asking on the main blog what date the 1993 incident happened. Well I have not been able to find the answer to that one or any answer as to whether Ollie brooded the chicks.
I think it was probably a bit later than now, maybe in early July. Thus the question of brooding was probably not so important.
Mind it does mean that Frank has a long haul to get these chicks to fledging.

Such a touching scene at the moment, one chick by her side as Lady tries to rally a little whilst the other one is being fed by dad.
Dad has taken off again so the chicks settle down with mum.

The eldest chick at LoTL is 30 days old today. So it it 19 days from fledging at very earliest. So one would expect this crisis to go on until mid July at best.

The chick in 2008 fledged on 9th July (I was there). If the good weather keeps up he may just manage to raise his family.
What a heartbreaking day this has been. Madge stretched her wings and looked up but can't get on her feet. Daddy is feeding the chicks which is absolutely the best news of the day.
I don't think it was Lady stretching her wings Emma - I think it was a 'burrowing' chick under it's mum's wing. I've only seen the occasional head movement. Anyone have anything to add please? Emma?
