Hi all: Thanks for chat and Ernie info - don't forget to read the last few posts of last week to catch up on folks.
Brenda: My sister has been to the Chelsea Flower Show several times and has always loved it. Do hope the weather is kind on your day.
Patriciat: How nice that people were so generous with your fund-raising efforts. Good for you - you must have a winning way!!
dibnlib: Thanks for spelling out Ernie's "real" name. Doesn't sound half as much fun as his more familiar name. Actually, I remember now - Premium Bonds - they were being sold when I was still in the UK. I think my sister also has some that she bought way back when....
Emma: Painting is done - although just noticed a smudge of Pot of Cream (the paint) on a wood ceiling beam. How did it get there!! Took all the blue painter's tape off the glass panes this afternoon and put the hardware back on and it looks pretty nice. Do need to do some tidying up where paint trickled under the tape and also onto the hinges a bit, but all pretty minimal.
Have been keeping tabs on Trucker Steve, whose cat has an eye problem. He's going to take her to the vet. He's got a hard trip this time - three days of 11 hours a day to the next stop in Wisconsin. He's in Montana now, where it's well into the evening.
Off to see how EJ is doing. Have a nice Sunday morning all.
Diane, Thanks for the bear clip. They really are sooo cute.
Annette, Hope the toothache has stopped today.
Enjoy today's sunshine and warmer temperatures.
Does anyone else think chick two is imminently about to hatch at LoTL? Lady won't brood and keeps looking at the eggs!
I am wondering if it was a nuthatch that I heard last evening. I was at the wrong end of my garden in Surrey to see the feeders, but I heard this birdsong sound of a child's whistle, rather slower than the RSPB recording, in groups of three or four notes, When I approached, I just saw a flash of colour in the trees and it was off. Any suggestions?

Sorry JSB, can't help you there.
Hi jsb, could it have been a bullfinch ? We get nuthatch and bullfinch here and the bullfinch is active at the moment, as it likes the young shoots on the fruit trees.

Cirrus was just going to post to you and phone rang. I agree I have just looked and Lady is looking very intently at the eggs and I think LOtL have said there may be a crack appearing.
EJ back and Odin not wanting to move, she is making little chirps at him.

Lindybird you are right it is very touching, tears in my eyes as I watch this little miracle.
Meant to say I know you computer was being naughty earlier this week but I did post on your page, did you get it?
Cirrus thanks for all the pics, just wonderful to see.
Unknown said: Just checking in between storms. Looks like no LG chicks yet. EJ sure is doing a lot of wiggling, though. Annette: I hope your toothache goes away very soon. BTW: The spectacled bear cubs have been named Chaska ("dawn star") and Bernardo ("brave like a bear"). The cubs and their mother have been moved to a larger living area, so no more webcam. I was glad to see that they are only viewable by the public for a few short hours on weekends. If you watch this slideshow of them, you may have a cute overdose. http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/Amazonia/Exhibit/AndeanBears/cubphotos.cfm Everyone have a nice Friday.

Thanks Diane for the cute overdose, they are gorgeous.
Cirrus/Brenda H: Thanks re bulllfinch, but no. The whistle sound was just a single note repeated, no tune to it. Just like a child with a whistle. By the way it is a beautiful, sunny day here. I am trying to revive my orchids outdoors, after they suffered an infestation of woolly aphids, which were difficult to get rid of, even treating them with garden pesticide. The few remaining ones can be picked off with a cotton bud as they appear.
