The light is fading, and EJ keeps nearly dozing off.
Suddenly, she is startled as something 'bangs' the nest tree - as she looks around a large bird (Odin ??) flies away into the distance.
EDIT now all is quiet again, & she is dozing off.
Just catching up on today's news. Thank you so much. Rather disappointed there has only been one fish again today,
Was that Odin who just flew past the nest?
Evening Brenda I thought I just saw Odin after EJ heard a bit of a noise and looked up. It is was he has not come to the nest. Perhaps it was hard to fish today with all that wind again.
As Lindybird just said it did look as though EJ was dozing off.
Margobird
It could have been him Brenda. It looked large enough for an osprey, and she did not alarm call when she saw him. As there have been gaps in our 'coverage' today, I would like to think that there has been more than one fish - however, the one she did get was a good size.
Shame for EJ so hoped Odin was coming to give her a break but looks like it is not to be. I will say goodnight now and go and do a bit more fiddling around with the packing. Have a good night all.
Evening everyone. I've been watching on and off yesterday and today in between various family related toings and froings as well as the usual spells in the kitchen at mealtimes. Glad today has been more peaceful on the nest than yesterday was. I gather Odin has been absent for a while. We noticed his absence last weekend (was it last weekend?) when he and EJ had to deal vociferously with intruders. I think it takes a lot out of them. Odin is probably roosting and EJ is snoozing on the nest. Both having a well earned rest. Hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend. We are heading for winter again early next week so batten down the hatches! Best wishes and as ever, thanks for all the updates, pics, etc. Emma.
Going dark on the nest now so I must go , too. Phone calls to make etc. Goodnight All.
Hi Margo, I am already worried about the forthcoming weather for them. It has been exremely cold here today, with no sunshine. We stood from 9am to 5pm on a charity stall in a field in Kent. I am still feeling so cold. I hate to think how cold it is on that nest.
Thanks Linda.
Hi Brenda having said goodnight I am still here and like you worrying about the awful weather they are going to get at LG. EJ and Odin have had to put up with some attrocious weather since they arrived. I am just praying that it will improve soon so that it will not be a problem for their chicks.
I bet you are cold, it has been dull and chilly here all day but at least I wasn't standing out ine open like you were. Hope you warm up soon.
