EJ chirruping away I wonder if Odin is in the vicinity. I should think that she could do with a break.
Margobird
I'm waiting for him to appear....
Me too Lindybird I am sure EJ knows he is about, hurry up Odin or it will be dark.
Forgot to say, for those reading later, that it has stopped raining again. EJ is 'peeping' every now & then.
It must be so much easier for the male at LOTL to catch fish with the loch on the doorstep whereas Odin has to fly a considerable distance to catch his fish. The last fish at LOTL was caught just outside the hide. It is the same at Rutland Water where the ospreys are often seen catching fish from the hide.
You are quite right Alan but have not seen Odin for ages do you know what time he was last seen.
Hi Alan - I always wondered why the birds liked LG so much as the Loch is not good for fishing, and the other stretches of water are some way to go. Maybe there used to be more fish in L. Garten?
She looks fairly settled but seems to want Odin to come in. Maybe she wants a last stretch of her wings. Sorry I'm not going to get a chance to see her in the 'feathers' this year. Oh well! Maybe next year.
Has anyone noticed how "fluffed up" EJ is tonight as she sits on the eggs. The rain has stopped but I guess that it's freezing up there now. Unfortunately the weather is set to get worse before it gets better this week, with snow showers in the next couple of days.
I thought she looked cold, Sandy. The wind has been blowing the moss about on the nest again. How fortunate that the eggs are not hatched yet, if there is going to be snow.
