Evening all. Quiet on the nest.
Thanks DjoanS. Have now read it. EJ still seems very alert.
See that there has been further drama today on the nest. Many thanks to All for posts, pics and clips.
All is peaceful on the nest as I write - you wouldn't know that anything unusual had happened. Glad there has been fish today, and maybe another one is on its way soon.
Lindybird: It all happened rather suddenly and Odin was off in a flash. EJ is definitely still a little wary and is looking constantly in one direction:
Thanks everyone for the captures and the clips. Looks like EJ is a little more settled now.
You are so right Sandy. EJ just keeps looking at the one spot.
I heard shouting.... Both birds were on the nest, looking alert & in the direction EJ was looking before.
Now Odin has flown off, but EJ has remained sitting, on the eggs.
Intruder alert ... Odin flies in to defend the nest ... chirping and mantling ... then flies off in pursuit

Thanks for pic, DjoanS - I went to the stills camera, but it stops at night. It all seems a bit calmer now, but both birds were obviously expecting a new attack from the intruder (s?)
More loud alarm calling from both birds on the nest - they look at the sky and around them, as if almost unsure of where the danger is. Odin flies off leaving EJ looking anxiously after him.
Another intruder alert ... heard the commotion & came through to find Odin on the nest with EJ, both alarm calling and Odin mantling. he's now flown off ... no doubt in hot pursuit of the intruder!
