Looking at the nest, EJ head tucked under her wing and resting - all is at peace.

Malcolm at nest at LOtL, sitting on a branch close to Marj, and there he is. LG still peaceful, as it should be, with radio chaffinch in the background.
I think its Marje calling, but Malcolm is there besides her, not quite sure what for!! And he's off, maybe its fish she wants and he's gone fishin.
Nothing happening at LG, think I'll go and read the paper.
Still nothing happening on the nest ... except a beautiful little songbird singing away ... and I don't know what it is ... definitely not radio chaffinch, although that is there too!
EDIT ... the song is beautiful ... not the bird, because I can't see it!

Ist egg laid 15 April which means egg will hatch .... 22 May ???????????????????????? Is anyone able to comfirm this. Not sure of the number of actual days from laying to hatching. 37 ?
I was just thinking that a least I'd be home for the hatching. :) All quiet on the LG front. Looks cold and a little miserable. EJ just started to peep
I think you are right Cirrus ... but I may have read a post, possibly from Alan, that mentioned 21st May.
Cirrus,Djoans I made a guesstimate of the 21st May but as I wont be back till afternoon on 22nd I hope EJ hangs on until then. Lady P, Thunderdog and I are going to Wales, to the same cottage we have rented for the past few years about 3 miles from Betws-y-coed in Snowdonia. We will be visiting the Glaslyn site when we are there and hopefully see the chicks there as the eggs were laid earlier.
Alan - your holiday sounds wonderful too! No holidays planned for me until Sept/Oct :((
Off out now so I will catch up later ... assuming someone is watching!
Your holiday sounds ideal Alan. May you and lady P and Thunderdog too revel in peace and beauty and Ospreys. And may EJ accommodate you too :)
Good afternoon all and thanks for all the news, clips and pics. Had to go out this morning to hairdresser so have onlty just got back. Of course the first thing I did was to see whether there had been a fish. So pleased to see that Odin fished earlier today. Still sounds quite windy at LG. I was watching last night and EJ was watching that big clump of yellow moss as it was being blown about a bit. Still seems to be there but such a shame there has been more rain.
BrendaH and Alan do have a good break and Alan sounds lovely where you are going and you will get to see the Glaslyn ospreys too.
Off to catch up with weekly chat now. Have a good day all.
