OK. So we're keeping a special eye out for Odin this morning..... Cirrus: I remember Odin bringing fish very early when I was watching the chicks last year - it's much lighter earlier then so that may account for it. jsb: Thanks for the info re EJ's (non-)returning chicks. BIrds must be a lot like us: We love to see our kids but aren't too keen on having them move back in and taking over the house.
Here we go again, Why has Odin suddenly appeared back on the nest with EJ?? They are both quiet but looking around. Sometimes I think he gets fed up and just wants to hang with EJ.
EDIT and off he goes again.
Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
Odin just returned to the nest - lovely to see side by side. Not sure whether he will stay. Domestic bliss - spoke too soon,Odin off.

Good morning: Good grief. Such drama. Where are the smelling salts?
Barbara Jean: Your theory re EJ being reluctant to leave nest earlier due to intruder sounds reasonable.
Lindybird: Fab photo of EJ and Odin looking very stern!
Djoan: Great shot of intruder landing - he's a persistent you-know-what, isn't he!
Diane: Those splotches do look different in the two pix, but I wonder if lighting/angle/shadow could explain confusion.....
Margobird: Thanks for reminding us that birds can go two days without food. I think that may also reassure Cirrus! :-)
Alan: That "bark" incident was a hoot. He put it right on the eggs, then realized not a smart move, so moved it, then EJ comes back and moves it again. Like me and OH "cleaning out" garage....
OK, so Odin just back to check on EJ and do the stand-on-one-leg routine, then off again. Well, just into my second cup of coffee and way too much excitement so far. Must tear myself away and get organized... Back to check on latest installment in a bit...
Oh just great .... for me ... I fly down town to Boots to exchange an item (back within the hour) and to my joy find Odin on the nest (took a quick pic) at 4.26 this rejoiced my heart and then a fast read of one page told me about the FISH ............... Yes yes yes, my wish came true. So thatt make TWO fish today ..... Correct???/
Now to read the pages created whilst I was out properly.
Thanks so much everyone for posts and pics - just WONDERFUL
All seems quiet, EJ doing a bit of rearranging whilst the chaffinch sings sweetly in the background
Much reassured thank you Annette. So enjoyed the videos , particularly the one with the bark being paraded to and fro, Thank you Alan
So, what a wonderful day after yesterday , what ho ! A breakfast fish at 09 what ever and a high tea fish at 3 pm something or other. Just perfect .I'm one happy fan, hopelessly devoted to Odin.
Enjoyed all your posts , thank you so much fab fans
EJ is resting on the nest now, after all the dramas of today. Don't suppose she thinks anything out of the ordinary has happened; its just another day in the life of an Osprey:
--- little does she know that she has 'fab fans' out there!

She certainly does - just another day, hey. Is it trying to rain, hear what sounds like raindrops on the mike.
Sounds like I've missed another exciting day. Plenty of action around the nest. Ej sitting happily just now. obviously content having had two feeds today.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
Feeding time at Lowes just now, Madge just off with quite a decent sized fish, headless.
Oh now I'm confused confused. it looks like Madge sitting back on eggs. Camera angle at time only showed egg bowl and a pair of legs and the fish. So don't know if it was Madge that was fishing and brought it back for the male. mmm. Maybe she just took a bite and sent him off.???
