Yes well, no live camera, no update. Here's hoping it's back on line soon!
Once more you do us proud Alan. That really was a good sequence. The intruder didn't dare face EJ - landed on the nest rim with it's back towards her.
A hah !! EJ's flurry and ruffled attempts at seeing the intruder off finally finished pulling the moulting feather from her face :)

Cirrus: On every occasion that I've seen an intruder land on the nest this year they have always had their back to EJ. Whenever they try to turn to face her she really goes mad at them, at which point they usually decide it's time to leave. Thankfully I've not seen a really aggressive intrusion this year - let's hope it stays that way!
All calm on the nest:
The bird that's singing - a warbler - EJ keeps giving it the direction its coming from the evil eye!!
Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
Oh Sandy, yes, please let it stay that way. A really agressive fight with prospect of broken eggs or whatever just is not what we (I) need. Maybe, because the nest is so obviously occupied by a bird that 'owns' the nest and is incubating, the intruder takes a prudent approach ( like we would back off from a bear with cubs - well, any bear I suppose, but if it has cubs we'd be frantically careful not to intrude on its space) Have you ever witnessed a really aggressive intruder fight?
This is off topic but was looking a out thr window thinking the feeder -9 of them are needing filled when I see this movement and its a pesky GREY squirrel. No greys thanks you. But I just scared it away and hope it doesn;t come back. I love nearly all animals but I am a red sqirrel person. Greys are ruining the reds habitat. The red in indiginous btyw. The grey isn't. I am now going to the nf hunting goshawks lol
Cirrus: Thankfully not at LG recently.
I tend to agree with you that if you have a really strong pair like EJ and Odin then any would-be intruder who had serious designs on their nest would have to be really persistent to cause them problems.
I guess the intruders who have worried them so far have been "chancers" who aren't as yet serious about taking over the nest.
BTW has anybody any info on White TF, the bird that intruded a lot at the back end of last season?
Tish, absolutely with you on the issue of Reds dear. Not a hope of one in Bristol of course . But my sister in Cumbria heard of a grey being shot in their local -- pause for thought. Couldn't bear it if the greys won ground in cumbria. And LG must have loads of Reds - hopefuly.
Well, it's late in the day for a fish isn't it . I do hope Odin appears with a big one soon,
Am I remembering correctly that Odin used to bring in a breakfast fish really early for EJ last year? Or was that only when the chicks were hatched.?
