HI all: I'm late starting this. Be sure to check the last two pages of the previous Weekly Chat - some interesting links, news, updates on nest data, photos. I haven't had a chance to read them all but off to do that now.
Ah so. I read them now and then. Currently sorting through mail order catalogs and tossing some and watching Odin - oopsp here comes EJ; off to the Daily Update.
Morning All. Dry here but rain forecast for later, & for the next 3 days. That'll get all my garden weeds growing. We were very disappointed that the Osprey Party didn't have a runaway success in the General Election, as now we have a hung Parliament we are having to listen to yet more politics both day and night on the TV & radio... when will it all end, I ask myself, and then they can get on and discuss important things such as what has happened to the nut harvest, as I can't now get my favourite 'Walnut Pieces' from the supermarket, to put on my breakfast cereal?
Wonderful pic of the peregrine chicks, Diane.
Sitting here writing & listening to the wonderful birdsong at LG: it is better than my garden.
Going to have a pottering weekend - have to give that old kitchen stool another coat of paint (its very interesting trying to keep the Dog's tail off the wet gloss paint...) and more garden tidying if the weather allows. Going to visit sister-in-law again to commiserate with problems re her builders who have put in new staircase but it's not right. An argument has ensued which is stressful.
Have a good day/weekend All.
ps, Hope Trucker Steve can keep his little kitty.
Volcanocam - different view now, but clear, however the plume is chopped off. Windows7 users can stretch the view to see the vent close up.

Thanks jsb, they are very clear pictures this morning.
Margo, a lovely video. I just love to see these birds and their chicks.

Thanks for the link to the video, Margobird. Just fantastic viewing - hope for at least one more to hatch today.

Good morning Brenda and Sandy. It shows so well again how gentle they are with their chicks and I love to hear the communication that goes on between parents and chicks. Perhaps by the end of the day there will be another hatching. Hope she manages to keep them warm as it is very cold again due to the wind and also wet here.
Margobird - have to laugh at the way the righthand chick wobbles over backwards after it's been fed!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Annette – the parts of Trucker Steve’s Friday journey which I saw were the best I have seen yet – the snow through Wyoming, then the winding road through Utah. Diane – somehow I didn’t think you were the kinda gal to have pink power tools!! UK economy is suffering from lack of decision over who governs – the people have spoken, but heigh-ho the politicians have to sort it out among themselves – and they call this democracy!! I just wish we had a written constitution to make it clear. How long can the company keep repairing Steve’s old tractor – it doesn’t make economic sense considering how many days he’s lost just since I’ve been watching. jsb – at last I’ve successfully seen the volcano for the first time – thanks. While I am watching, the ash plume is getting darker, and on the IR camera, it seems to be getting hotter and the heat rising further. There also seems to be a hot spot just left and below the main vent – is there a small pipe there?
