Good grief. How did it get to be April 28 already?!
All quiet on the nest right now; EJ seems to be snoozing.
Something is definitely pecking something, but what?
No pecking now, just the buzzing and some birdsong. Odin's eyes keep closing a little, he's nearly dozing off....
I can hear a cock capercaillie
listen to it here http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/c/capercaillie/index.aspx
Thanks troutfisher. Don't know if that was what we were hearing earlier, it was distant, so hard to tell. There were some capercaillie in the woods a few days ago, being noisy.
Thanks for the capercaillie sound bite, troutfisher.
well, a "quiet" day for EJ and Odin which is a good thing. EJ peaceful now, 10.50pm
Just logged on - and hello to Annette in Socal when you come on line soon and to all those who log on in the early hours and are the other side of the globe.
It still sounds very windy at LG but I believe it has been a reasonably ordinary day judging from the blogs - except for the wind blowing EJ off her eggs this afternoon. Luckily she changed her position and settled down again.
Looking in her now it looks pretty peaceful so another long night of sitting and waiting for Odin to come in in the morning and do his share of egg sitting. He has been a good boy though and is taking his responseabilities seriously.
