Hi all: Getting a late start here today. Been busy in the garden all day and now working on getting some of the glue out of the corners of the panes in the French door, so have back to computer.
Previous Weekly Chat's last page included long chatty posts from Lindybird and OG, a link from Djoan to the BOT Barn Owls, which have their first egg, and a colorful greeting from Diane to AQ who's having a birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQ! :-)
Good afternoon, all. Lovely Bluebell picture, Alan - mine are coming out in the garden, but nothing so good as seeing them in woodland. Grew up near Beech woods with Bluebells, Wood Anemones and Wood Sorrel.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hi. Started to reply to above posts, then lost the lot!! Grrr. Here goes again...
Great pic once again, Alan. Can almost smell them, they look so good. Nature at its best.
OG: Sorry to hear your knee is now painful after your Hos. visit - you can swear a bit if you like, I won't tell!
Tiger: What a huge chimney those ospreys chose, just made for a nest, I expect they must have thought.
Margobird: If you are logging in after returning home from your Hospital trip, I hope all went well. You are very stoic about your continuing problem. Just remember, lots of Hollywood stars pay a lot of money for a forehead like that! At least you can now look forward to your Italian trip, what a treat it will be.
Found this today, might amuse you:

Just been to read about the Mull eagles, how sad. The weather in Scotland has not been kind this year.
Tried out the above link myself, & it doesn't work, sorry. Checked it again but it seemed ok.
Wow Tiger! That's an amazing nest isn't it?
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Morning all:
Caerann: Brilliant news! You must be sooooo relieved! A regular paycheck; perchance with benefits! :-) Is it in your (insurance) field?
Alan: Aha! Yes indeed, those bluebells in the woods do look like the lupines I posted after my wildflower trip. Very pretty. Wonder whose house (mansion) that was with the osprey nest in the chimney. That dining room table looked very formal...
BrendaH: Re "expletive deleted", the U.S. gets very virginal about some things, which is weird when there are so many other corrupting influences running rampant. Sigh.
I tried that link (Lindybird?) but couldn't get anything.
Must get some stuff around the house today, so back later. Take care.
Sorry my link doesnt seem to work. It was about miniature horses - a tiny foal has been born. (see BBC News pages)
Lindybird: I went to the BBC website http://news.bbc.co.uk/ and saw the story and video under "Most Popular Stories Right Now." The direct link was http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8648467.stm Anyway, very cute!
Trucker Steve is driving north through Virginia - very green and pretty - not California scenery; more UK maybe....
Alan Your bluebells are way ahead of ours! One of my dogwalks goes through mixed woodland. The lesser celandines, wood sorrel, wood anemones, primroses and violets are in full bloom but the bluebells are just starting to come out - rockpools in places, rather than the whole sea. I think we are a week or ten days away from optimum blue coverage. I'll try to post a pic when they are in full bloom.
Lindybird - found the mini-mini-horse via Annette's link! Annette - Trucker's destination has changed - further east to New Jersey.
Good evening to those of you still around in the UK and of course the night shift. Just catching up on the days events with the ospreys and was wondering if anyone can tell me if we have had an update on Rothes since the 23rd March blog by Alice? I have been wondering about her for at least a couple of weeks and may have missed a comment about her somewhere. Decided not to post this on the daily update as it will be lost in the overnight switch to a new thread. I too have been following the grilling of Goldman Sachs executives and the news on our Prime Minister's gaffe - can't wait until the election is over. Thank goodness for all the updates, pics and films on the ospreys to keep me informed as well as the chat on this blog. Would love to contribute more but you know how it is. Grateful if anyone has any recent news on Rothes they can share.
Best wishes, Emma
