Hi all: Getting a late start here today. Been busy in the garden all day and now working on getting some of the glue out of the corners of the panes in the French door, so have back to computer.
Previous Weekly Chat's last page included long chatty posts from Lindybird and OG, a link from Djoan to the BOT Barn Owls, which have their first egg, and a colorful greeting from Diane to AQ who's having a birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQ! :-)
Hi Margobird - hope the hospital visit goes well. My dad was prone to skin cancers ... on his forehead and on his bald patch! He never sat in the sun and was always careful to wear a cap, so there seems no reason for them developing sometimes.

Morning All, Lovely warm morning but with cloud, which makes the sun fade in and out.
Caerann, I am so very pleased for you. Congratulations.
Linda, I hope you like your son's girlfriend. Sounds as if she is important to him, if he is bringing her home to meet you.
Annette / Diane, Re Goldman Sachs, the profanity was not bleeped out on our news.
SueC, I am watching the camera but haven't caught a view of the chicks yet, so thank you for the picture.
I must carry on with the HW.
Posted on here half an hour ago, but it never came up! Can't go through it all again, so here are bits I can remember. AQ - ironing pile is no more! Got to the bottom yesterday morning - but will be starting again when overnight load is dry - drat! Caerann - YESSSS! So pleased for you - congratulations. Annette and Diane - yes, Diane was right - hospital was for bone density scan because two of my medications can cause osteoporosis. Only took fifteen minutes, but radiologist seems to have twisted ligaments around my replacement knee while moving my leg to get correct position for my hip - I guess it will recover in a day or two. Lindybird - I was musing whether the girlfriend might iron his tee-shirts!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Margobird - hope your hospital visit goes well. Pleased you are enjoying looking forward to your holiday - hope it lives up to your expectations.
Caerann wonderful news about your new employment hope it fits in with you being able to keep up with all that will be happening at LG. Annette BiL is still waiting on appointment to go and get assesed. Weather here variable but isn't too cold. I have been trying to outwit ferral pidgeons who are eating all the food I put out for the blackbirds and starlings but they have now brought in reinforcements in the shape of a herring gull who manages to get a hold of the tray and bring it to the edge of the frame so that they all can get to the food. It's good to see the American government bringing the Goldman Sachs big wigs to task I just wish our government would do the same but they seem to be shying away from it. Hope everyone keeps well .

Afternoon all,
Caerann : Congratulations on the confirmation of a start date for your new job. Luckily I have never been unemployed but was made redundant once and managed to get another job before the axe fell.
Margobird : You must be looking forward to going to Venice. I have never been but sounds interesting.
SueC : Thanks for the update on the Chichester Peregrines. I will take a look later.
George g : I had the same problem with wood pigeons here so I have stopped putting out trays of food and just fill the hanging feeders. It seems to have worked as I get lots more small birds now.
This morning I decided to go to Short Wood as the bluebells arein bloom now. They always have an open weekend there on the mayday bank holiday so I thought I would pay another visit before it got busy. It was fantastic as the bluebells were fully out. It was as if the trees were growing out of a blue carpet and the scent was wonderful. Here is one of the pics I took:
Afternoon Alan and what a photo, now I think Spring is really here. Nice that you can go when it is not crowded.
I am indeed looking forward to Venice. Have been to Rome a couple of times and also Florence which we both enjoyed very much. I suspect that we will probably need to go again as there will be now way we can visit all the museums and galleries in 5 days.

What an amazing picture Tiger. It reminds me of seeing Storks nesting on the roofs of houses in Greece.
Hatching imminent at Derby peregrines ... the diary reports one egg 'pipped' at 11.30 this morning!
