Hi all: Getting a late start here today. Been busy in the garden all day and now working on getting some of the glue out of the corners of the panes in the French door, so have back to computer.
Previous Weekly Chat's last page included long chatty posts from Lindybird and OG, a link from Djoan to the BOT Barn Owls, which have their first egg, and a colorful greeting from Diane to AQ who's having a birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQ! :-)
Good morning Alan like you wall to wall sunshine here in Poole. Lucky you hearing a cuckoo, the only time I have heard one this year was at Loch of the Lowes earlier this month. Wich I could encourage goldfinches to my garden, lots of sparrows, starlings, robins and blue tits, wood pigeons and visits from a female sparrowhawk but no goldfinches. The sparrowhaw bagged a pegeon early Sunday evening and left the carcass outside my front door. Got OH o deal with it as I get upset but they all have to eat.
Whatever you do today have a nice day and I am impressed, hangng out the washing and of course you did it in a manly way.

Alan - our Goldfinches have become very regular again - mostly in pairs, but sometines three, four or five. Whatever you do today, enjoy! I am going for a bone density scan this afternoon - just a routine thing due to medications. Weather fine so far - had to hang curtains out due to reaction to dry cleaning chemical smell.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks for the clip Tiger and I agree that net is not good news, hope it is not attached to anything and perhaps it will get blown away.
Good morning Lindy and I would say you would wrap an ironing board with some difficulty. Hope son has a good birthday. We are not due any rain here until Thursday/Friday but we will see, weather forecast are so wrong most of the time except at LG where they seem to get it right unfortunately. Hate seeing EJ and Odin getting wet and knowing it is difficult to fish.
Have a good day.

This is such good news original goldfinch, should imagine it is quite a place to visit when you read about the wildlife there.
Always nice to hear about new Reserves, we need lots of places for birds to be undisturbed by us humans. Thanks for your good wishes for sons birthday, Margobird. Shan't bother to wrap the i. board, but have some other smaller presents for him, some of which are surprises, so shall parcel them up. Might even bake him a cake! Just mustn't eat any of it myself ! Dry here, and 3 Goldfinches on my nyger feeder this morning, so I'm very pleased. Also saw a Greenfinch on there yesterday, 1st time we've had one feeding here. Think we usually hear the Cuckoo a bit later in the year up here, we are so far North that even our daffodils come out later than in the Home Counties.
I have just updated the UK ospreys nesting calendar:
Thanks for the calendar update Alan.
Brilliant Alan. Thankyou.
