I realised from Tiger and chloes Clocks this nest was ready to hatch.
and wondered if others have been watching?
and BLOG from LDOP confirming Alan's kind FB info.
Cam down at Moment
Two fish on the nest. Kl Flies off. Dad returns with yet another Fish, but does not know wht to do about the chicks, he wanders around looking at them, then KL returns to sit, he then has a nibble of new fish , before flying off with it.

This pair are really lovely to watch. KL Flies off after the male lands on the nest, but he gets very concerned, and tentatively approaches the chicks, and as they dont move, he gently pushes down near them, and when they just shuffle, he seems satisfied, that he just has to watch over them.till Mum returns

A nice fish alongside, not sure if any hatch, today 35th day.
Sad news
"Sad News: Chick number 3 hatched through the night or early this morning as we expected. Unfortunately, while the male and KL were briefly off the nest, it was taken by a magpie which flew onto the nest, and took it off in its beak. This is a first for the LDOP and does show how vulnerable the chicks are at this this young age."
How sad.
Oh, what a shame!I hope they take more care of the other two.
How very heartbreaking....after all the incubation and effort to get out of the egg
That is so sad.
Thanks Alan, I kept getting the wheel each time I went to post.Doh!!
Very sad, will the birds never learn, echos of the Crow pinching the Egg at Lowes. Not sure if the corvids are just opportunists enjoying a free catch, or do they really need the food for their own young.
