Yesterday - two fish, not a lot of intrusions, no hatches, lots and lots of rain :-(
But we have a very healthy-looking chick, who is in fine voice:

EJ looks very asleep, and I can hear the wind but it's quite mild.
Off to the kitchen.
Back. All is quiet except for steady rain.
Morning Scylla, thanks for starting the new day off.Still raining but EJ is sheltering her chick well and seems quite relaxed. Let's hope the rain stops soon. Maybe chick 2 knew it was going to rain and is now waiting on it to pass before it pips. She's such a good mum EJ.
Good morning, TWINKLE - I didn't refresh and see you until now - not used to company at this time of the night ;-)
EJ is awake:
Not necessary, I know, but you can see a bit more of her face now:
She's up and flapping... a couple of chirps, or three... then back to the nestcup.
Not a pretty sight!
She flapped from various angles, shaking off as much water as poss:
Was that going to be a pirouette?
I wonder :-?
Morning Scylla and Twinkle. Poor EJ is still very wet. I know you did your best with that last picture Scylla but it isn't conclusive is it? We will see what the morning brings.
Close-up-ish of nestcup @ 0257hr - is this a hatch in progress on the right, or just the other piece of broken shell?
This is a close-up of the pre-midnight exposure, the broken shell is in a very different position.
