Not even the landing of a svelte, unringed (probably) intruder could mar a perfect Day1 for our healthy first bobblehead.
Here is BIRDIE's family portrait, snapped during the osplet's first feed:
And for those with no time to catch up on yesterday evening, here is a super photo posted by Operation Osprey on Facebook, of Odin trying to feed the osplet (which I have to admit I cannot see ;-D ).

EJ takes the opportunity for a quick preen. Odin is quiet, busy watching. Both are more relaxed.
12.34 EJ moves a little closer to give shade to the chick and eggs and then lowers to brood/incubate.... Odin is still on guard.
12.35 all is quiet, EJ has a got at an irritating tickle on her back. Both are still watching

and back down
I appear to have internet overload, and can't get the cam up at the moment. The joys of country living!
EJ is looking around and up, not calling, just very awake. Then something's stingy or itchy, she stands to have a check and look underneath. Ah, it is that empty eggshell, ohwell... ^^
Pic 13:42h
and she sits again, nibbling stuff.
2016: first time in history an Osprey nested in the NL. 2018: 2 active nests! 2019 a storm interferes. 2020: a third active nest in a tree!
Or is the cam down?
Fine for me...
