  • Lovely to see a long post from you Margo and so glad you enjoyed your anniversary meal. Best wishes to everyone else.

    Kind regards

    Jenny

  • Phew! I got locked out too. I thought it was me, not being a techie.

Our internet connection is sporadic, as well. Upgrading taking place in this area, apparently.

Lovely that you were able to post Margo. I also loved the bowl of soap! I thought I was missing something!

My ambition is to see an osprey around here, but too many people about.  I do see a lot of herons. (not quite the same, but I do like them) We can see three nests, not far away.

    Tupperware day Wendy?

  • Rosy a cloud cover that looks like a Tupperware lid.

All down to mountains and the river Speyside temp difference.

Just taken 3 lovely German walkers 3 miles to their hotel as late and lost. Not sure what's going on as Daisy and I have met 10 in 4 days. 3 lovely students needing a cheap B and B were transported to Aberlour on Monday. I am a soft touch but all lovely peeps ( students) and they all liked Daisy :-)

  • Good evening, all.  On a completely different note I read earlier that a Labour MP is being slated because she twice mouthed the word 'b****cks' at the PM in the House of Commons.  Honestly, what on earth is the fuss about?

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Clare it was the fact she was chewing gum :-) !!!

  • Was she?  That would explain why her comment was silent.

  • Good evening – in catch-up mode again!

J’s eye appt was fine on Monday – came back with the usual temp adjustment to prisms (stick-on version) and will be seen in a few months to assess, and then if all correct will get go-ahead for optician to arrange new lenses incorporating the change.

I had another part-day on my own yesterday while OH enjoyed a Male Carers bowling trip with pub lunch.  I was happy tidying indoors and hoeing outside, and then sitting down to plan menus.

Today the ******* engineer let us down over the dishwasher repair; we had a three-hour slot, during which we saw him drive past in both directions (too fast to flag him down), but he reported he aborted the job as he couldn’t locate the house!  Never bothered to phone and ask us where we were!  Now re-arranged for next Tuesday.  So we had wasted the morning, and I had unnecessarily turned down a cancellation slot offered by rheumatology clinic!  This afternoon we went to the garden centre for three more pots for my Heucheras (now planted), a small alpine to replace one which had given up and some ant killer.  It was supposed to be quite showery today, but at home we only saw early morning light showers, and then two more while we were out (which hadn’t happened here, just nine miles away).  So we have watered selectively this evening, assuming we might get showers for most of the garden tomorrow afternoon.

Heard from friend in Ecuador that they are still having earthquakes, although the news has disappeared from our news media – some of them quiet serious, with more damaged buildings.  They were out of the house at 3:00am today – and another two big ones followed – very upsetting for the children.

Heather – your return surprised me as I thought you had only just gone, but you are certainly seeming more relaxed now you are quietly back at home!

Annette – I guess most of the Whales have now gone through, since there was only one mother and calf pair spotted this Monday.  Lovely photos of the Oriole, as well as the colourful flowers around your fountain.  I watched a House Sparrrow yesterday having a lazy shower by standing in the lower level of our water feature while Blackbird splashed around on the middle level!

Diane – I probably made it sound like a huge number of flowers from church, but we don’t overdo the decoration – just one arrangement on a normal Sunday, so half of them made a vaseful of normal domestic proportions!

AQ – sorry to see “nasty tablet” has had unwanted side-effects, and that your nurse-chauffeur-etc had been called away for other duties!  Sorry that you are missing trips, and also about the fence problem; I wouldn’t have expected one party to be able to choose the colour on the other side – especially when adjoining other off-set properties!

Brenda – sounds as if your late friend had a good send-off!

Wendy – sounds like you have your garden – and OH – well organised.  I like Dunkeld as a place to visit, as well as the attraction of Loch of the Lowes.  How good of you to rescue lost foreign students  like that!

Rosy – very belated Anniversary wishes; how lovely to be able to walk along the river to go for a celebration meal!

Margo – lovely to hear from you; and glad you are able to communicate once again – that was a long time to be without phone and broadband.  So pleased you had a lovely Anniversary meal and then a Steak dinner too: well done!  It sounds as if the three units of blood really suited you, and is good timing for your show this week and then again for the wedding in June!

Grocery shopping tomorrow in Asda, so lunch out at Old Toll Bar - I think it may be all of two weeks since we were there!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

Clare - They are supposed to be polite to each other, not abusive, well, not verbally, anyway.  Hence all of the "My Right Honourable Friend/Opponent" and etc.  It's part of the etiquette of The House, and strictly observed.

I suppose I just appreciated some honesty and directness for a change!!  At least she stayed silent.

What a pain in the backside.  Will it be the same bloke who will be sent out again?
