Thanks Lmac :-) You or anyone shouldn't really have to do this as the team should be updating us but I do appreciate your kind offer as it would be good to know what is going on off cam. Thanks again.
Lmac - the birds were later back last year so I think majority of nests had eggs when all the later birds ie the singles/first time returnees were coming back. I had wondered if that had made a difference?
I read somewhere last year that nest without young are more prone to serious intrusion. That being where there are eggs, or just adults defending.
So, come the weekend, we sould have a bobblehead, and by next weekend all being well three bobbleheads, and we know how quickly they grow. I've got everything crossed for a good outcome this year :)
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
Some time ago I asked about if intruders would still intrude if there were chicks.
I recall Tiger responding and reminding me about Ceulan and the intrusions there as poor Ceulan was scared stiff. I will have to look that up again and please correct me if I have this wrong Tiger.
Probably why I am so interested in what is going on off cam. I too want to see everything going well here this year and I just want those intruders to move on.
EJ's back
Odin has flown.
Morning All,
Just doing a catch up as I couldn't get on last night after I got home from Edinburgh as my computer was playing up. Glad to hear he got her a fish. I see he's panting away with the heat,it was 27c up there yesterday and looks like another hot one today.I reckon we will see a bobble head before the weekend. Lets hope they have a pleasant day without intruders now. Thanks for all the updates.
Morning Twinkle.

EJ is up and flapping with contact calls, looking toward the cam tree
She's flown.
Odin is back, bless him.
