A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
I saw Maya calling and within seconds 33 arrived with this huge fish.

Birdies LG DU update.
33 has flown leaving Maya to feed the three chicks who are all up and ready.
WOW! Is that a fish or a whale?
Feed over it seems and Maya tidies
Good morning all. Maya is falling asleep.

Maya is doing a great job and #3 is getting his/her share.
Maya is having some fish and one of the chicks wants more :-)
Maya continues to eat and all the chicks are up and each get a little.
Feed over, just a top up and Maya settles down again
Off now ... SYL
Tim's tribute to 03(97)
Whilst this a more general item, and I have posted on the appropriate site, I think it is of such importance that it should be seen here also.
Maya was clearly shouting, mantling and looking skywards whilst standing off the chicks. They were either hunkered down in response to her alarm call or just plain full up! The large fish is still in evidence and Maya placed her foot firmly on it as if to say to the intruder "There is no way you are getting this fish"!!
