A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Agree Jane / Patily - lovely blog and fabulous pictures. Kayleigh really spoils us :-)
Maya is calling 33 in

She flew off for a moment - I suspect to him as she has returned and covered the chicks but looking and waiting.
And it is a whopper 33 lands with - head removed
maya takes it while 33 has a little stroll round the nest
33 has flown and Maya feeds the chicks who are all up with open beaks :-)

Is it only Maya that feeds the chicks?

Usually it's only the female that feeds the chicks. Monty has tried feeding the chicks a couple of times.

Good evening all. Thankyou all for the lovely pics and updates:) Such lovely photos opf the Three chicks so happy to see them doing well. They all seem to have hatched close together so hopefully there wont be too much aggressive competition between them all. They all might be evenly matched :)
Karen glad you saw the Flying Scotsman, must be a wonderful sight. I have not seen it yet
A very glary picture. Maya brooding with a large section of fish alongside her.
