A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
LOL, true, Karen. The problem is that I will not be glued to the screen the next few days, as it's the weekend. You said you'll be out too, didn't you?
Incubating osprey (OK, not sure who it is) has just checked the eggs for the umpteenth time today.

I think Maya is feeling/hearing something from the eggs now. She keeps looking around, but low in the nest (maybe just ants!?)
Yes Noc, I'm out tomorrow till mid afternoon and also out Saturday probably from late afternoon as I really want to see the Flying Scotsman which is travelling up from Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley.
So likewise, limited viewing over the weekend for me.
Egg checking and turning, but Maya covered the view.
33 has arrived with a bit of fish in his talons.
33 has arrived with the fish piece and stand on the nest. Bless him, does he think there is a mouth to feed.
33 has left and Maya is falling asleep.
I'm off for now. See you later.
33 is on the campost. Maya keeps looking down
Another check of the eggs .. once more the view blocked
Maya, move! We can't see the eggs!
Just past 38 days for egg #1
