A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Maya has risen, eating some fish and is now feeding the chicks again

Amazing ... like last year , Maya is feeding the chicks almost hourly :-)
Earlier, 33 arrived, nibbled at some fish while Maya had a break and then took off with the fish.
33 has returned, dropped the fish and is now moving some sticks around. A little twig lies across the chicks.
33 once more took the fish but flew off without it leaving the fish for Maya and the chicks. The little twig is now off the chicks who sleep as Maya preens with a fish piece beside her ready for the next feed

Off for the day now . BFN
It has been confirmed on Dyfi Blog, today, that it was Clarach, who visited this nest.
Thankyou all for all the lovely pics and updates. The chicks are really being well provided for :)
33 has obviously just brought in a freshly caught fish but Maya is feeding the chicks with the remains of one from yesterday it seems. Nice family group.

Birdies LG DU update.
All three chicks getting their share. 33 flew off as I was posting.
Maya has just flown leaving 33 on guard and to move sticks!.
Obviously only a comfort break as she is now back and settles down to brood. 33 leaves but the camera shakes so he may only be on the perch above.

Thanks Brenda for the update. So it was her :-) She isn't half getting around but hopefully she'll settle at the reserve as I believe there are four single males so perhaps a future for her at Rutland!

Maya feeding the chicks just now
Maya is a fantastic mother! #3 is at the back but she pushes food through making sure it is fed too.
