A new month and lots to look forward to as we eagerly await these precious eggs which Maya and Blue 33(11) have devotedly protected, hatch!
For anyone new and just starting to watch the Rutland Manton Bay Webcam, here is a brief summary of the 2016 season so far:
The resident female, Maya returned 21 March. Her mate Blue 33(11) returned 27 March. Maya has laid three eggs, #1 on 4 April, #2 on 7 April and #3 on 10 April. Maya and 33(11) are currently sharing incubating duties and we should see a hatch around the second week in May.
Happy viewing
Hi Patily and Karen.
Birdies LG DU update.
I wish 33 would be a little less clumsy when moving these sticks!
Few minutes ago he arrived with this
then places it, poking Maya as he does so
Maya has no option but get up
Maya takes off and 33 tramples around the nest!
Thankfully now he has settled.

Maya returns with a clump of something - like bark? As she tidies up, 33 rises and takes off.
Maya now settles down on the eggs.
Off out now ... SYL

Well this branch has been whipped around the nest, I hope others have better screen grabs, I wasn't ready.

Maya is dozing Bless her
I have just seen 33 fly up the bay and over the nest with a fish. Expect we will see Maya start calling soon.
Maya is quite comical and you can usually tell when 33 has a fish as she stretches her neck up for a better look:-)
maya is calling now
