Only the onset of heavy rain marred a desirably routine day, yesterday.
It's well established now, and EJ is stoical as ever.
What bird alerts EJ so early in the morning?

Phew. It's back up:
Nice one, Odin!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Morning Everyone Well done Odin Keep it up
Well done Odin. You deserve a sit down after that fish. Wow.
Morning Patily :)

Our dear boy is nodding, between looking around.
Good morning ALL. Thank you Scylla for starting us off and the early commentary, and Moffer and Clare for the further updates. What a hero Odin is, a whopper. She will only need one of those a day to keep her going! So, we wait for egg number two today.
Odin is incubating, checking and biting at the dry matter close to his beak.

What a brilliant fish. Well done Odin. Is it just my imagination or is he on better form this year than last? Also, is the jury still out on the first fish and male which arrived this morning? Any ideas? I am late as I have only just been able to sign back into the forum! Have been following events though thanks to you all.
Hi, Rusty! It's hard to tell if he's in better form than last year. There seems to have been rather less intrusion this year - at least so far. I think it could well have helped them that they were both so early this time around.
Morning Sheila and Rusty. It was a big fish. I wonder how long she'll be gone.
I agree Rusty. Odin is on top form this year. It's great to see after last year.
The bird that landed could easily have been Odin, but he was in a hurry. Possible other male around. Anyways, he delivered in the end.
Here she is:
