It was wonderful to see both Maya and Blue 33(11) return much earlier this year. Maya arrived back on the 21 March and 33(11) on 27 March .
Since arriving back Maya and 33 have reestablished their partnership and are busy preparing their nest to hold these precious eggs which we so eagerly await.
Maya laid her eggs after 9 days last year so we could see eggs anytime from 6 April.
She certainly has, she looked very comfortable settled down there in the middle.

Hi Jane, as you say, here is the Maya settled down in the nest as if trying it out.

After this 33 arrived to mate, took off then returned with some nesting material. Both of them stood in the nest looking around then 33 left and I see Maya has just flown off too.
33 now arrives with more soft grass
then a scape
Maya joins him and they both fly off
I'm looking at the nest and thinking just how cosy it looks. All that hard work is really showing now - quite a difference from when Maya first arrived back.
Then
and now :-))))
Another mating
I have noticed over the last couple of days that the matings have been more frequent. I wonder if this is because Maya is getting close to egg laying??

We have stats for that. See days from mating to laying
all in the egg stat index
This pair have been back 7 days so there could be eggs in about 3 to four days.

Just caught a quick mating. Maya was on the nest, when everything started to shake, obviously 33 was on the perch, and flew directly on to Maya's back, then they sat side by side Awww 33 was saying did the nest move for you dear LOL....
