Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 27 March 2016

HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY EASTER (to those who celebrate the holiday).

Last week's Chat thread is here.

Everyone have a wonderful week.

  • Wowie, wow, wow!!! OG, that's beautiful!!!

  • Lindy: Happy birthday to your OH!!!

Brenda: Sorry about your bad night and any damage from the storm. That place seems to be a constant pain in the neck.

Annette: Sorry about your cancelled whale watch.

    Everyone have a good day.

  • Margo: I hope your chest infection clears quickly. Thinking of you.

  • Linda, sorry. I missed your post, saying that your OH had already picked up Bonnie.

A Very Happy Birthday, to your OH.

  • BRENDA - So sorry to read that MARGO missed her meal out due to a chest infection. She has always been prone to this kind of thing and of course, more so now. I hope that she will recover soon.

LINDY - Happy birthday to your OH! How did Bonnie get on in the kennels?

BRENDA - I was thinking about you and CLARE when Storm Katie was blowing, also wondering if MARGO's area was affected. My brother had no electricity for 24 hours or so. They were cooking on top of the woodburner and living by candlelight.

OG - Yes, as I said previously, well worth the wait! I know that you were deeply involved in the planning and I can see that everything was well thought out. Our kitchen was done 30 odd years ago and unfortunately OH and his late wife had a lot of requests which may have hampered the kitchen planners considerably. I wasn't there so don't know what discussions took place. It may not be fair of me to blame the kitchen installers.

  • A bit nippy again today. We just had a short burst of hail.

  • Agree, DIBNLIB. I was working outside and shivering!!

  • I've been busy with errands etc.  Also my OH had two visitors, in the form of his sisters, because its his birthday.  He has asked me to thank all of you for your good wishes for his birthday, but says he's not having any more!  (He is currently on the phone with his Awful Cousin from Canada, who insists on ringing us up on our birthdays, even though she never used to bother for more than 30 years, before.....)

What a lovely room you have made, OG - very smart and I can see the practicality of it. You must be very pleased.

I was sorry to hear that Margo missed her meal out due to her chestiness.  Thank you to Brenda for letting us know her news.

Here are some of the first pics of our recent holiday, just for Margo especially - a relative of little Billie, perhaps?

This cat came to visit us on our balcony, and must have made a very perilous journey up a tree to reach us!

  • For AQ,  a little church in what used to be a fishing village - I expect the entire population could have fitted into it at one time, but now it would take one a great deal bigger, due to tourism!   (Its about 20 ft high, and a little deeper in length than the frontage)

The plaque over the door says built in 1837 plus some symbols I don't know.

These lovely bright flowers were in the surrounding flower beds to the church:  they have modernised the area around it. I expect it once stood quite alone in rough ground.

  • Oh, and Yes, Bonnie has settled back in to home life.  She ran around the dining room in figures of eight for about five minutes when she first got home, and wagged her tail so hard at seeing me, that I thought it might come off altogether! They then went out for a walk and when she returned from that she fell asleep after all the excitement.

Of course, she was excited all over again when my OH's sister came to visit, as she remembered her LOL!!
