Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 27 March 2016

HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY EASTER (to those who celebrate the holiday).

Last week's Chat thread is here.

Everyone have a wonderful week.

  •     ---- you can just see my shadow in the bottom left, as I try to get all of this Camellia in!  Its really lovely this year as there has not been any frost on the blooms.

Hope your cold is not too bad today, OG, and it doesn't stop your celebrations.

I started with a sore throat myself yesterday, and guess its the same one which my Eldest had at the weekend:  he sounded "Ruff!"

  • A Very HAPPY BIRTHDAY OG>

This is a photograph I took of part of the Great Dixter House, during a village horticultural competition. There are too many people on other photographs.

  • Good Morning Everyone. A sunny morning here.

AQ, Couldn't you hold the letter over a steaming kettle LOL

OG, I do hope you can celebrate your Birthday, but the important thing is that you get yourself better. X

A lovely camellia, Linda. I have noticed how well they are flowering this year. I woke up this morning feeling dizzy and very hungry. So obviously I need to eat. LOL  I hope your sore throat has healed.

  • Lovely pic of Gt. Dixter, Brenda:  I always look out for it on the TV, and would love to go and see it sometime. Such a mellow house and such beautiful colourful gardens.

My throat is no better and I'm beginning to sneeze now, which is somewhat annoying as we are off to Wales after lunch today (he's on the golf course again!) Hope that your dizziness was only hunger.  I find that if I don't eat at regular times I feel strange these days - habits of a lifetime.

Lovely sunshine here but have not put out the laundry yet as it was late going into the wash as I waited to get my shower, waiting for the milkman as I wanted to cancel the milk as well as pay him - and no-one came until after 9.30....  Its usually bright & early so I dare not get hosed down in case I miss him.... you can't win, grr.

  • Good morning, all.  A very Happy Birthday to the Original Goldfinch!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • RIP to the excellent Ronnie Corbett, who has died at the age of 85.

  • Linda, Take care of yourself and I hope you will be able to enjoy your trip to Wales.

  • How sad to hear of Ronnie Corbetts death. He will be sorely missed. Todays comedy bears no resemblance to their wonderfully intelligent comedy.

  • Tell me about it, Dibnlib.  I also miss the brilliantly subtle comedy that Benny Hill and Kenny Everett used to do so well!

  • Happy birthday, OG! Hope that you have managed to have your special lunch.

LINDY - Enjoy your break! Can't remember if you have a good broadband connection there.

Yes, sad to hear about Ronnie Corbett. One of the greats. (Fork handles, LOL)

I'm envious of the camellias. Nothing on ours, yet.

AQ - Don't you just hate it when they give you a sealed envelope? It is your body, after all! I have a personal story about that but not for putting on here just now. Maybe another time.

My brother phoned last night. Even more silly decisions made which I won't bore you with.

OH is in bad form. He lost at the bowls ;-(

When I dragged myself out of bed this morning, heavy mist and frost. OH not a happy bunny. Anyway all cleared away by 10am. He has yet to inspect plants.

Enjoy your posh phone, WENDY! Expect to see pics on here any time soon.
