I think that as Foulshaw Moss has such a good webcam, it would be better to have its own Thread. I hope others don't mind.
The webcam is up and running now.
The male, identified by his 'White YW' leg ring, hatched at Bassenthwaite in 2008. The female, identified by her 'Blue 35' leg ring, hatched at Kielder in 2010. Their three youngsters born in spring 2015 can be identified by their blue leg rings: V2 and V3 appear to be female, and little V4 (the last chick born) a boy.

Birdies LG DU update.
Hi, I went to Foulshaw today, and though no ospreys seen while I was there the male and one juvi had been seen earlier this morning. The volunteers there were not sure whether the other juvie has left and if so when, the female not seen for maybe two weeks.
Lots of common lizards including young ones on the boardwalk, and plenty of dragonflies.
There might be a new osprey viewing platform next year, nearer to the nest, so that would be good, if possible.
Thanks for your report Chrisy, its good to hear they are intending to put in a new viewing platform next year.
Also thanks for your instructions on how to get there when we met, duly noted. Do you know when it closes for the Winter?
The Nature Reserve does not actually close for winter, though that is when most of the work there goes on.
The entrance to it is still not easy to see as it is set back from the road which is a fast one and close to a dual carriageway. It could do with a high sign at the gate rather than just the banner on it, so as to be seen when approaching. Wish I had suggested that when there!
Thanks Chrisy :-)
