HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat Thread is here.
In the U.S., we change to Daylight Saving Time tonight. I shared this link on my Facebook page, and I thought I'd include it here. This is Shades State Park (Forest), which is just down the road from me. My grandfather was a park ranger there for many years. It's one of my favorite places in the world. I'm so ready for spring weather.
Everyone have a wonderful week!
Alan: I see Lady P of the Thunderbirds has died.
Diane: For some reason the woodpecker tree link isn't working - at least for me.
Annette: I just fixed it. Thanks.
Diane: Working now.
Annette: I would so love to see your copper hummingbirds!!! Lucky you to have your orioles back. I had one here last year for the first time in a couple of decades.
Good luck with the vacuum cleaner expedition.
Hope your health improves! Sending you good energy.
I had storms here last night, and I wished I could send you all that water. No damage here but Illinois was scary.
Oh wow, Annette, those copper hummingbirds are stunning!!! I just googled them.
Diane: We only saw those copper-colored ones for the first about two years ago - they're extremely aggressive compared to the already aggressive locals!
A: It's interesting that the copper ones are a new species for your house. Wonder what changed? They really are beautiful birds.
DIANE- Two acres seems a lot to me!! I looked at your link but my OH is the tree expert so I can't say how like it is to our sycamore. He is not trained as a forester but his last thirty years of work was on a large estate near here and he got involved with all aspects. When he has finished watching TV this evening I will ask him.
ANNETTE- glad you are a bit better. I also thought of Alan when I heard this morning about 'Lady Penelope'. I am always plugged into BBC World Service radio at night, as you know. Heard last night about the latest results regarding Clinton and Trump. It looks more and more as if it will be between these two at the end of the day.
Heather: With John Kasich winning his home state of Ohio, there's a chance that there might be a contested Republican convention in July, where all kinds of wheeling and dealing could go on (not to mention bloodshed at this rate). Also, with Marco Rubio's withdrawal, his supporters will need to choose between the remaining three. I don't like Ted Cruz at all(a holier than thou little twit with apparently few friends in Washington DC) and I can't say what I think about Trump on such a nice website. There's a general feeling among Repubs that if Trump ends up their nominee, Clinton will win the general election. As for the Dems, I like Bernie but don't think he stands a snowball's chance in hell of achieving all the things he wants to.
Diane: I was wondering about the copper Hummers myself, but can't remember if I found an answer! :-)
