The purpose of this thread is to record observations, activity and captures of Rutland’s Manton Bay nest throughout the season.
The nest at Manton Bay has been in use since 2007 and its history can be found here.
I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Maya returned with the fish staying briefly on the nest before taking off again

Maya arrived alone a few minutes ago with a very large headless fish. Now flown
Birdies LG DU update.
I would imagine it is 5N(04) Karen, visiting her old nest to see that Maya is taking good care of it LOL...

Mary, I too think it's 5N(04), the "fish buglar" :-D - what a great name for her LOL
Just saw these "talons" hovering
then who I presume is Maya on the nest mantling
So where is the fish?
A fishless Maya returns to the nest.
Shame, hate seeing her losing her breakfast but it was a big fish and I'm sure she's had plenty.
ENS at present but Maya has been bringing in some (dark) clods to build up the base of the nest.

Maya just standing on the nest
Hi patily
I think you mean TRYING to stand CHOL:):) some rockin and rollin on there
Been watching the nest from a distance today while pottering about in the greenhouse and its been very quiet.
Maya has stayed on the nest, with her head down at times, braving the wind and has only left the nest for a short period a handful of times. On a couple of occasions she has returned with some nesting material - a stick and some straw / moss, one of which was a rather large clump.
Maya flew off about 10 minutes ago perhaps to find shelter or has gone fishing, Hopefully she'll get herself topped up as I think Rutland is in the path of storm "Katie" forecast for Monday and I expect fishing may get difficult for her. Hopefully the storm isn’t too bad and there’s no damage to the nests.
