The purpose of this thread is to record observations, activity and captures of Rutland’s Manton Bay nest throughout the season.
The nest at Manton Bay has been in use since 2007 and its history can be found here.
I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
33 remains on the nest with Maya while she now picks away at her fish

Off out now. SYL
What wonderful news that 33 has made it back and what an exciting description of his arrival by Ken
Maya attempting to change position , flys off and back twice , before a final lift off with the Fish. Very windy..
Maya returns with her Fish and 33 says I'm off!!!!
Edit
Now Maya has flown off again.
Maya has just returned to the nest to join 33.
She has been on and off the nest but is still holding onto that fish ... I don't think 33 is going to get any :-)
I was just closing so sorry about bits on the pic.
Maya has been pottering about on the nest after bringing in the stick - great capture SK2. Blue 33 has just now returned to the nest with the rest of the fish which Maya takes
Both Maya and 33 start mantling and another bird flies over ... wonder if this is Blue 25(10) again?
Maya flies off the nest giving chase ... so I do think it is a female intruding as seemingly females see off the females and males the males
Maya has returned and is off again
Maya has been on and off a couple of times more while 33 remained on the nest.
33 flew off then returned followed by Maya. Maya still has a piece of fish and starts eating it. Can only be a tail end by now
After Maya finished her fish, they mated then both flew off. 33 returned with a little stick and Maya a larger one which they both placed :-)
So, 33 and Maya are now nest building and off he goes returning with another! No doubt the first of many :-D
Thanks for all the updates Karen, a lot been happening so its hard to keep up :-)
