The purpose of this thread is to record observations, activity and captures of Rutland’s Manton Bay nest throughout the season.
The nest at Manton Bay has been in use since 2007 and its history can be found here.
I am sure I speak for us all in wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season at Manton Bay.
Maya has just arrived back ... I didn't expect to see her. The weather looks awful, the water choppy and Maya looks really wet from either the rain or perhaps a failed fishing attempt.

I really would expect her to seek shelter!
Edit: As I type, Maya has just flown off again,.
Maya still looking and waiting
and flew off 06.45
Good morning Kate. Still absent.
Birdies LG DU update.
Good Morning Mike and Kate - Happy Easter Sunday to you both!
Empty nest right now. That capture Karen posted last night makes the Bay look like the North Sea LOL.... looked really wild.

Good morning Mary. Thanks and the same to you.
Seems only the LoL pair are sitting it out on the nest.
Laddie has gone now Mike, cannot be easy fishing in this wind and rain.
Oh and he is back again just to make me look stoooopid LOL
Morning all - Happy Easter!
Here am I thinking I've had a long lie to discovered the clocks changed last night!
No sign of Maya on the nest. Hopefully she is away getting herself some breakfast.
Maya has just landed briefly on the nest with a large headless fish and then flew off again. Too quick to capture.
Another brief visit from Maya! She has a large fish and only stays a minute before flying off again
Oh, she has returned
