What do gardeners, baseball fans and osprey watchers all have in common? “ In the Spring a young man’s (OSPREY’s) fancy gently turns to thoughts of love”, and especially in the spring, “Hope springs eternal in the human breast.”
As gardeners planting seeds and wee plants, we can envision that perfect colorful garden that for me anyway never quite materializes. As a baseball fan I can envision my Cincinnati Red’s as World Champions come fall, or at least playing in the Playoffs.
As Osprey lovers, now is when we wait and HOPE and wait some more, while we envision first EJ’s return, then Oden and some spectacular sky dances. Then the mating, then three beautiful eggs and then (Oh, joy) three perfect little bobbleheads. Best not to think too much further ahead, lest we get into the time of parting and tears. But that is for later.
Now is the time of HOPE.!!

New entry at the Main Blog; long with many pictures.
Thanks, June. Wonderful that they seem to be coming back already. Alan has listed a third sighting on the Osprey Sightings thread as well.
Kind regards, Ann
Good morning all. Great news that 3 ospreys have already been seen ! Also brilliant news that Jaydee and Pip have seen UV :). I so look forward to Jaydees next blog and to seeing what UV will do this year. The guessing has begun for EJ and Odins arrival, hasnt this year flown by?
Unable to go to Keilders site on this computer grrrr! Have to wait till later
So upset yesterday as our 2 ducks have returned, and use our pond freely muddying it all up. The female was killed on the road and now the male wanders round constantly calling :( There is a flooded field opposite me that they are attracted to. These 2 ducks are very tame and keep me company when doing work in the garden. Feel so sad
HAPPY MOTHERING SUNDAY TO ALL
I know in USA this is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.
58Willow - it was a surprise to me that Jaydee was able to visit UV and great she saw the bird she has had close contact with since an egg. Great for the Kielder project and wish this bird home well. It will be an interesting summer if UV returns this year.
Hope your male duck finds a New Love.
