Good evening/morning, all. Annette is enjoying her anniversary celebration, I hope, so I thought I'd give her a break and start this thread for her.
There is even snow on the hills, forecast for today Linda.
Oh, poor EJ. She has to do a good job keeping those eggs warm every year, because Scotland is so changeable in the Spring.
At least the rain isn't stopping the chaffinch from singing. It's coming up to the time Odin usually delivers a fish to the nest. We'll see. Max 2C in LG today wind 7- rain and snow. Brighter tomorrow but rain from time to time, a high of 12 C AT 4 PM !! otherwise single figures all day 5 C at 10am . Oh EJ, sigh. But your feathers are warm for the eggs.
Hi Cirrus: thanks for naming the chaffinch as being that beautiful warbling we can hear.
Contrast the weather at Glaslyn,LOTL and LG:
Oh, Alan. Marge is doing all right then. EJ just looks like a blob of milky rain on my video screen. It's only cos she moves her head from time to time that it's possible to realise there is something alive under the blob.
EDIT - er, I wouldn't call a chaffinch's song a ''warble'' of any sort though LIndybird. It's actually quite a ''hard'' song ending in a kind of ''zeeee'' sound. I may have missed the warbling bird.
Weather certainly does change from area to area. According to our part of the country(Northants) its going to get up to about 21degrees at the weekend. Do hope LG misses the hill snow forcast for up in the Highlands area. It even looks nice in Finland at the moment. As long as Odin keeps feeding her she will be a stoical girl and endure the weather.

Anyone know when Odin was last around?? Is he hiding in his secret perch or is he away from the nest?
Cirrus: Sorry, I should have been more specific - didn't really mean warbling, that was misleading. Still a lovely 'summery' sound he/she is making though.
Lovely day here in Huntingdonshire and also expected highs of 20 + at the weekend. It is better to get all the cold and wet weather out of the way now rather than when the chicks hatch.
