Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey), 28 February 2016

HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY LEAP YEAR DAY (MONDAY)!

Last week's Chat thread is here.

Annette: This is the way that you encourage moles and gophers to leave your property. LOL LOL

Everyone have a wonderful week.

  • Good Morning Everyone. A sunny start here, but rain and wind is due in the next hour. Pictures of snow in Scotland this morning, on the weather forecast. Hope you have no trouble with the icy roads.

OG, I do hope you are feeling better this morning.

Annette, Margo will not get her results until mid March, when she sees her Consultant. She will probably post on here.
You are very welcome to our rain. LOL

  • Good morning all just a little update. Stressful times as we wait for results of bone marrow rest. Unfortunately stress was increased at the weekend when I received a letter saying my next appointment would be on 6 April which would mean a wait of 6 weeks before I got the results. Normal procedure after seeing consultant is to book the next visit before we leave the hospital. For some reason this could not be done and they advised it would be posted to me. I also received an appointment for a bone marrow rest which of course had been carried out by the consultant. It being a weekend I could not do anything unti Monday morning, after various phone calls was put through to her secretary who said she would speak to consultant on Tuesday and come back to me. Had a call yesterday afternoon to let me know appointment has been moved to 16 March, 2 weeks today. Once again I am so impressed with Poole Hospital. I am only one of hundreds of people they see but they do very well in providing such s personal touch. Waiting will still be a test but I do know results for bone marrow tests do take a little longer as samples will be sent to 2 other hospitals and they will then compare notes. Chemo starts again next week so will be having a blood test on Friday and will find out what HB level is when cancer clinic ring on Monday to confirm I am OK to start the treatment. Will be able then to work out whether I need a trasfusion.

Will be going for a breakfast again on Friday and a steak on Saturday as it will be another couple of weeks before we can go again. look forward to Friday now as OH is home and we make it a day for us, no jobs to be done and some much deserved relaxation  for OH.

Not long now and the Ospreys will be back, I did wonder whether I would still be around but still here and trying to stay positive which is difficult at times.

Weather here started of bright, sunny and cold but black clouds appearing now which means that the showers forecast are on their way. Looks as though Scotland and the North will be getting snow again.

OG sorry to read you were not feeling too good, hope you are feeling better this morning.

Take care all and thanks for your support.

    Margo x

  • Pleased to see you have posted, Margo. The rain has started here and the wind is getting stronger. Our house is vibrating at the moment as the massive digger they are using on the site is trying to uproot an oak tree stump. The oak tree is fighting back !!! It was a beautiful tree. We are watching an oak tree, which we had a TPO put on, to protect it from the builder, but builders do have " accidents " on the roots of trees !!!

  • OG/ANNETTE   yes it was me who heard from Rita. She told me she is reading everyones news, even if she isn't posting. She also said that Amber was perfectly happy in "Barking Mad" where she was treated as a member of the family and she would be happy to put het there again should the need arise.

I love broccoli and sprouts. Not keen on any beans though they seem to be everyone else favourites.

Some of you may remember my cousin who had her leg amputated (above the knee) when she was 50. We got the news yesterday from her OH that she is in hospital again and will have the other leg amputated today. We are both stunned. She has suffered from medical problems since her early 20s and been so brave throughout. Her OH says that unsurprisingly this has floored her and that there surely can't be anything else that can go wrong.

  • AQ   what a nightmare for you. I think you must have the patience of a saint

  • ANNETTE   We didn't see or hear anything.

  • HEATHER    I heard the helicopter. Thank you for the news of what it was about.

We are off to visit OHs Dad and Sister for a few days. We will leave about 0600 on Sun, and stop at Bankfoot for breakfast. Hopefully we will arrive between 1600 - 1700. We start back on Thurs and stop to see Mum. We will spend the night at a TL and get home Friday afternoon, picking up Benson at kennels in BofG .

  • Feeling much better today, but thanks for all your kind thoughts.

Will be back later, but just wanted to look in now with good wishes for WENDY'S flights, holiday and time with Daughters!!!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG thank you so much for thinking about me and my girlie trip. All sorted so excited and can't wait to get to airport.

Super long Daisy walk by her favourite part of the Spey. Various beaches with Otter footprints and poo and far more exciting than deer poo. When you have a nose as long as hers you can enjoy a good sniff!!!

We then had a total whiteout and it layed on road for some time. Fed the birds 3 times so happy birds but costing OH a fortune as I cheekily buy it on his PayPal account.

  • Do have a wonderful time, Wendy.
