Thanks Mary for that great news! So nice to see him home.
Good that he's back Mary but a shame you were 'so near yet so far'. That's birdwatching!
Birdies LG DU update.
Brilliant to hear Blue YD is back. Thanks for the link Mary and just sods law you missing him!
Possibly a symbolic thing, but great that he finally managed to reach his hatch location.
Incubation is in progress at Balgavies and I'd be curious to know whether his parents treated him as any other intruder or, maybe, their instinct drove them to be more tolerant. The description on FB is not detailed enough to tell (alarm calling? mantling?) but Blue YD seems quite relaxed in the picture and only flew off when the male returned with the fish, he might have been perched close to his mum for minutes, not usual for "regular" intruders.
Absolutely thrilled to see one of my favourite birds back safely. Such a shame he and B24 don't meet.

Roberto I would loved to have seen the reaction to Blue YD from the male and female too. Alas it was not to be. :-)
Thank you Mary. Very atmospheric!
Glad you thought so Mike :-).... Thank You! very nice of you to comment.
Lovely video Mary, nice to see the other birds as well as the Osprey, you had some changes in weather while you were away.
