EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Here this afternoon for nearly an hour. Saw both adults and 3 chicks, one on dead tree later flew to nest, one stayed on branch beside nest and one lying in nest. Do not know where other was, in nest or hiding somewhere!
MORE fabulous photos from Craig Ramone of the Balgavies family.
GREAT PHOTOS of one of the young juveniles having a go at fishing.

Great shots Mary.
Birdies LG DU update.
I think these photos are interesting Mike, as it does prove that some juveniles whose nests are close to water do have a go at trying to catch a fish, they may not be successful but it proves that they try.
You are right Mary. The same thing went through my mind and it is unusual to actually get evidence of Juveniles fishing. It was thought that perhaps they didn't do so until actually on migration.
Probably the majority of them don't Mike, but in some circumstances this shows that some will try, I wonder if it has ever been observed before at Rutland or Lowes for instance, it is great to see these photos of the youngster trying though.
I have to say Mary that I can't recall it being seen at Rutland during my years helping out there.
Amazing photos and very interesting seeing the youngster trying to fish
