HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's chat thread is here.
I saw R. T. Hawk on Thursday. It's been so cold here that I had to put the battery charger on my car for a long while. I went out as the sun was setting to remove it. R. T. screeched at me when I went out the front door. When I closed the car bonnet/hood, he screamed at me loudly and flew around his tree. I think he was telling me off for disturbing him when it was time to roost in his tree. He called more gently when I went indoors. :-)))
Everyone have a wonderful week. Roll on spring!!!

Nice to see you on here, Harelady. Glad that you enjoyed yourself at Minsmere. Did you take any pics, yourself?
Clare - Lovely studies from you, as usual.
Good evening all. Look what I saw earlier today.
Click on him to see some more.

AQ: Apparently, the shark at Henley Beach jetty is a Blue Shark, and some Bronze Whalers (aka Copper Sharks) were also spotted. I was curious so I had to look it up! LOL! Fascinating!
There's a public Facebook page by a non-profit group who monitors the coast there for shark activity for swimmers' safety. They have videos of the Blue Shark. He's been cruising back and forth between the Henley Jetty and the Grange Jetty.
They also have video of the Marino Rocks beach, where that massive Great White was observed just 100 yards off of the beach! Phew. Apparently, that's about 17 km from Henley Beach in your area.Your coastline is so, so beautiful! What a lovely place you live in!

Limpy: LOL!!! That big fella probably has lots of them! Your photos are brilliant! Just looked at them. So lovely.
Clare: That magpie is beautiful and I love the woodpecker! That blackbird makes me shiver with cold. Great pics!
OG: I spoke to you on Facebook, so I won't say much here except that I'm sending you good energy. So sorry your treatment was extended. :-(
So pleased that you are enjoying the work at Minsmere.
Friend should have got to know today what is going to happen so will text her tomorrow to find out.
Diane - I remember watching the tv programme of his march and speech - must have been 12 or 14, can't remember which year though, was it 60/61 or a bit earlier. Knowing me I'm years out!!
Although cold, the afternoon ended up lovely and sunny, more hard frost overnight but suppose to be getting gradually warmer of sorts with wet and windy weather for the weekend. Hope the weather holds for Thursday evening as OH is taking me out for a meal (birthday). Off to a local pub which we have been to before so should be nice.

OG - Keep persevering even though it may be uncomfortable at times and you will come through it.
Clare - as always super captures.
Limpy - well done for spotting him, he looks magnificent.
Happy birthday on Thursday, Lynette!!!
Re Glenn Frey and his song Take it Easy "I'm runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load, got seven women on my mind...." continues with "I'm standin' on a corner in Winslow Arizona and such a fine sight to see. It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford slowin' down to take a look at me." I just made reservations at La Posada in Winslow Arizona for me, my sister and BiL when they come to visit this spring. Frey's song has been immortalized in a mural (complete with Ford truck reflected in a window) on Route 66 in that town... couldn't find a free image to link to but Google can provide others.
OG: How tiresome of the docs to extend your treatment. Too bad about the uppity consultant. Doing your own research is great as long as you know which sites are reliable. (On the other hand, browsing "symptoms" is a great way to develop all kinds of ghastly conditions.)
Heather: I think that adage still works.
Clare: A good investment for Helen. Does she have horsey ambitions for later? (Trainer? Vet?). Ah yes, a magpie. I knew that!! Woodpecker is very colorful.
Limpy: Good thing you aren't small enough to provide a meal - that owl looks very intense.
Harelady: Nice that you got a chance to hang out at Minsmere.
AQ: No paddling in Henley Beach, OK?
Lynette: Happy b/day for Thursday and best hopes for good weather!
Off to hear the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra tonight - Enigma Variations and other favorites. I bet they aren't thrilled with the weather - we've had a steady English-type rain all day with low gray skies.
