HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat Thread is here.
I posted a long list of replies at the end of last week's thread.
Saturday night in the U.S. and Sunday morning in the U.K. is the New Moon (the dark moon) -- the first one of 2016. See here for a list of monthly astronomical events for this year.
Wow, is it dreary here! So I'm inserting a colourful flower for this week's pic. :-) Everyone have a wonderful week.

Oh, no! That's terrible news. Some fantastic people have been lost in the last month. I'm starting to dread looking at the news.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Dibnlib, love the doggy notice. How true!
OG, Glad you got priority treatment from the gasman. Some big companies are human after all.
Brenda, You are very noble to look after the daughter's puppy (or maybe you were not given much choice) Good luck with the 6.15 am bit!
Lindybird, Love the quote. My favourite is 'age is a matter of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter" Mark Twain, I think. I love his quotes.
Also one of his "Do not read books on health. You may die of a misprint' (you mentioned you were feeling low)!!!! Like you, I like exclamation marks.
OH has pneumonia. He is grumpy today, so must be feeling better.
We both had the pneumonia jab when we became eligible, but I had pneumonia about a year later (I never get anything, usually) and now him. Different strains, I presume.
BRENDA hope you enjoy looking after Ruby. Can't remember what sort of breed she is, apart from a well behaved one.
BRENDA Hadn't heard about Alan Rickman....how sad.
ROSY Sorry to hear your OH has pneumonia.
Rosy, So sorry about your husband having pneumonia, not nice for him. You are quite right, we didn't have much choice about looking after Ruby. I suppose we could have said, no. LOL
Dibnlib, I don't know about Ruby being well behaved, but she does seem to be learning fast. I received a photograph of Penny this morning, with a message, "I am missing you. When are you going to visit ? " I think her 'Dad' is pushing me to arrange a trip. We will speak to them over the weekend, if Ruby allows :-)
I spoke to Margo this morning. She will be posting, possibly tomorrow.
Rosy - Enjoyed your Mark Twain quotes. Sorry to hear that your OH has pneumonia, which can be worrying. My OH had it many years ago, and insisted he had the flu - but after several days in bed he worsened and I called the Doctor who pronounced "hospital!" He was in there for three days. He recovered alright in the end, but was shocked as he said "I'm never ill!!" I hope your OH recovers quickly.
Friend and I took ourselves off to the cinema. They were showing two films today: I would have preferred the earlier showing which was "The Danish Girl" with Eddie Redmayne but I gave my Friend the choice, and she wanted to see "Joy" with Jennifer Lawrence.
We both enjoyed it - although I wouldn't rave about it. It is the true story of a woman who invents a revolutionary type of floor mop! She is downtrodden at the start, hampered by a dysfunctional family and no one's belief in her abilities, except for her grandmother. She has many adversities, trying to get her idea accepted and the product made and marketed. Some of it is comical, some of it sad. There are good performances from Robert de Niro, as her father, and Isabella Rossellini as her father's girlfriend. You find yourself willing the girl on to succeed.
A lovely sunny day today, and cold. There was quite a bit of snow last night, only a bit on me but the mountains look lovely! I went for a drive to the Langdale valley, and took a couple of snaps. See if one will post.
Oh! That's lovely, Chrisy.
Beautiful, Chrisy.
