LOOKING FORWARD TO 2016 BRINGING US A FULL NEST AT LOCH GARTEN WITH EJ AND ODIN AT THE HELM.
Notice the material covering the perches at the Dunedin nest? Wonder what its purpose is? To be more bark-like or what?
This was sent to me from a Facebook friend on a gloomy gray day. I just went to the mailbox and learned that the "gray" is actually sleet or snow. Wee, miniscule balls of white stuff accumulated on my dark coat before I reached the mailbox. If your day is gloomy, hope this cheers you up as it did me. Be sure to click on the picture for some matching music - - - light, bouncy and colorful. just what we all need on a winter day.
Hi Willow, according to notifications looks like you have just come on. Hope you have had a nice few days away. I haven't yet checked my few available cams or picture sources today, but not much of interest last time I did.
Good evening all. June love the butterfly photo bright on adull day! Parts of Kent have had snow but not us luckily! Although its been very cold. Yesterday we went to a place called Pegwell Bay and saw a raven (I think) Did not get a picthough. Also on the sightings board 3 short eared owls had been seen but we didn't see them! It was a very cold and quite windy.
We saw a kestrel sitting in a tree sorry its so dark !
Hello June Ive had a nice few days off and go back to workon Wednesday! Ive been thinking about icing my Christmas cake. Lookslike it may be another easter/ Christmas cake

The material looks a bit like artificial turf matting. I imagine this was used to blend in and also provide a good grip for Stirling and Pinella and any young that utilise the perch.
They seem to like their new perch.
Good evening all. Nice to see there will be potential chicks, !
Willow, love both your pictures, but you know me and the ocean. Some lovely active waves get to me every time.
Nice picture of a mating, Keith. Yes, astroturf, as we call it, is what I thought the padding to be.
