HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
I am celebrating the return of the light! The Winter Solstice is Monday night/Tuesday morning. The exact time is:
U.K.: 22 December at 4:48 a.m.Eastern U.S.: 21 December at 11:48 p.m.California: 21 December at 8:48 p.m.
Happy Summer Solstice to AQ in Adelaide, Australia (22 December at 3:19 p.m.), although I know you are already in the midst of a sweltering hot summer.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and holidays full of joy and peace!

Lovely to get such a positive post from you, Margo. I'm so pleased you will be able to have a glass of wine tomorrow. Hope that you, your wonderful OH and dear Billie have a really lovely time and a peaceful day. (I know what you mean about children: after seeing ours, or looking after them for an hour or two, we are shattered!!)
We are doing all the exciting last minute things: I packed up our 'Everyday' mugs as I swap them for Christmassy ones on Christmas Eve every year. On the other hand, I'm just going to get out the cleaning things and tackle the bathroom, which has been sadly neglected!! Other Sis-in-Law came over yesterday and told us that she has just lost her dog, who she has had for 16 and a half years. A good innings. She has buried him in a meadow we have, out in the countryside.
Nearly got lost in all the fuss, but it was Bonnies First Birthday yesterday.

Lindybird gorgeous photos of Bonnie.
I would like to wish everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas and enjoy being with the ones you love.

Thank You George. Hope you have a peaceful, restful time - and it stops raining!!
Margo: Lovely to hear that you'll be celebrating with a glass of wine tomorrow! Raise a glass to your super OH too! What a gem.
Lindybird: I'm with you on exclamation marks. They're definitely a no-no in the general publishing world, so I make up for that on here.
Diane: Saw that bad weather heading your way; hope those off-season tornadoes don't make it that far north. Will be looking our for that full moon, though it'll be hard to miss, rising in full view of our couch.
Off to do one errand today and then the living floor needs vacuuming!
Hope all enjoy/tolerate/survive Christmas with sanity and good humor intact.
I would like to say a Happy Christmas to all on here, and have a lovely time over the holidays.
I did get my phone line mended a few days ago, which was good. I hope the forecast rain is not going to cause more problems in the area. It is amazing that the main road N/S through the Lakes is impassable. Very inconvenient for a lot of people.
Just want to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas.
I was sorry, RITA, to read of your health problems but very happy to know that you are with your family.
I haven't posted much over the past few days. Just very busy, family meals and so on and so forth. Also correspondence and telephone calls regarding Sheana's funeral etc.
Hope that DIANE is OK, saw on the news about tornadoes in Indiana.
Sounds like there are a lot of folk here having a bad time, but I hope this weekend will be a turning point for those who need it - and I will try to read back and look for your news!
Meanwhile, Best Wishes to all!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
May the good times and treasures of the present become the golden memories of tomorrow. Wishing you lots of love, joy and happiness. Merry Christmas!
It’s too hot to make individual replies. Sorry. Midnight Mass was not crowded, but hot. I could see 3 fans working hard. This morn already 30 C at 7 am. I shall need ice packs to transport choccie gifts. We obviously live in an oldies suburb – no new bikes being ridden up & down the street, indeed no sound at all. Perhaps they are all inside with their new iThingies!
