Happy new week.
I"m sampling the Sticky Toffee Pudding with vanilla ice cream. Back in a bit to report!
Margo enjoyed her meal with her OH at the weekend. It was an emotional occasion for them both.
Back home after taking OH for his blood tests. I caught my reflection in a picture in the surgery. Why did I bother combing my hair ! The strong winds keep restyling it LOL. Playing indoor bowls this afternoon.
Tried to reply to your post hours ago, Brenda - just got the whirly thing Grrrr!
Off out now for a check up with my GP.Back later.
Hello All - Very cold here today, snow over the garden and road; my back path is so icy that I will probably stay in today, although I do need some shopping but will have to wait until tomorrow. It is definitely a day to start wearing thermal vests again!
Heather - glad to hear that your rash is getting better. I do hope that your brother has arrived safely and is not too tired after his long journey, and enjoys his stay with you.
OG - In all this cold weather, I envy you your Bacon pancakes and Haggis, just what I feel like ! Hope you will be very pleased with your new bathroom now.
Brenda - I do hope that your OH is feeling better now.thank you for giving us news of Margo.
Rosy - Have a safe journey home.
Annette - You really made me laugh with the story about the vinegar in the humidifier ! It must have smelt awful ! Glad you liked sticky toffee pudding, I love it, and it cannot do you much harm once in a while!
Margo - So glad that you had a nice meal out with your OH.
AQ - So sorry to read about all the devastation caused by the bushfire, so sad. Glad that your childhood home survived but sad that your mother's did not. What a lot of work , time and money now to sort it all out and try to get things going again.
Lindybird - Good luck with all the carpet cleaning and hopefully no more escapes from Bonnie !
Hope all that I have'nt mentioned are keeping snug and warm in this cold weather.
HAPPY ST ANDREWS DAY TO ALL OUR SCOTTISH FRIENDS!
I wrote this hours ago, but it wouldn't post --- grrr
Also said, Glad to hear that Margo & her lovely OH had a nice birthday dinner out. Thanks for the news, Brenda.
Rita: Sorry its so cold there: we are lucky as its not really too bad, just very wet. But I have a camisole on under my sweater!!! The thermal underwear is ready for if it gets to minus something.
I flew off to get my blood pressure checked by the GP: I said to him wouldn't be surprised if it were too high after battling with parking and the rain & wind today, LOL!! But he said it was OK and I can keep on with my meds. Actually, it was a locum as my GP is off sick so hope he agrees with the verdict.
Went into the garden to feed the birds this morning and it was a lake! all the paths filled with water, and the lawn not really fit to walk on. Hope it stops raining soon.
~ FOR MARGO ~
(Tree Peony this summer, it was specially good this year)
Don't think I'll get caught up with weekend - been busy with "this, that and the other" today. Tiler finished and we are told we shall have shower enclosure Tuesday and shower wired and plumbed next day - with maybe a few finishing jobs after that, so busy making a list of what we think needs to be tweeked/sorted/completed!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
PS - also got those final bulbs planted in containers - never so late before!
Linda, Sorry your garden is so wet. Our's is wet, but not flooded like you describe your paths.Pleased that your BP was fine.
Rita, I have noticed that you had warnings for freezing temperatures. Too dangerous for you to go shopping. Take care of yourself.
OG, Good to see that the end is in sight for your bathroom. I was wondering what would happen if you only had one bathroom. Would they complete the job quicker, but then maybe the job wouldn't be as good.
Heather, I hope your brother arrived safely.
Off to my bed now.
