HAPPY NEW WEEK!
Last week's Chat thread is HERE.
Happy birthday to Rita and to Heather!
I'm so glad to hear that OG is recovering nicely.
Sending good energy to Margo for this week.
Everyone have a great week!
Further to my previous post about the wrong date on my mother-in-law's death certificate I can now say the situation's turning into an absolute nightmare. The funeral is in two days' time but no cremation can take place without the correct death certificate, even though the body is readily available! I can't believe such an awful thing could happen.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
CLARE - so sad about this awful situation over the death certificate. That really is a bad scenario for any grieving family. Whatever the doctor had already allowed to go wrong, the undertaker should have taken all necessary steps to sort it out; the least they owe you is a huge apology (in writing)and compensation at least equivalent to the cost of the funeral - and you could consider reporting them to their professional organisation. Sorry also that Helen found it necessary to give up sea cadets.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG: So glad you have no damage -- so far -- from the awful weather! Be good to yourself today!
Clare: That's just awful. I'm so sorry for your family.
So sorry Clare. It is an awful situation. Hope it can be resolved soon, to prevent further distress for your family.
OG, Good to have a workman free day. Keep up the 'resting' mode when there are meals to be cooked .Reading back though, I see that you might have problems with a messy kitchen. I am in sympathy with you there.
Morning all: Busy day here - will catch up later but Clare - what a distressing state of affairs. So sorry. Do they expect to have it resolved in time for the funeral?
Hi Everyone, I am back home after a brilliant time with our family. Son and his wife will be returning to Singapore tomorrow. I have definitely been eating far too much.
OG, I have been reading EE' s and your posts. Thank you so much to EE. I am so pleased that everything is continuing fine with you, post your operation and that you had no reaction after the anaesthetic. I gather it is not unusual for some people to have sniffles, post anaesthetic. Sorry about the lady snorer. Just what you didn't need. My OH and daughter send their very Best Wishes to you. I have sent Linda a text with all your updates.
I missed a telephone call from Margo, today, but she has sent me an e-mail. She will ring me tomorrow, if possible They only have a temporary repair to their telephone line.
Here is an update from Margo :" The last week has been awful, as the chemo made me feel as it did in the early days. Guessing that it probably did more harm than good. I could hardly walk by the time I had the transfusion yesterday. Bit better today , but far from well. "
Brenda: Thank you for the update from Margo.
OG – It is not I who gets reduced nanny days, just my OH. But it does mean I have my car available an extra day for ‘me-time’. Yesterday was a horror day. Kids weren’t worse than usual - one grizzling with new teeth, all 3 squabbling over the very same toy and it was too hot (37 C) to send them outside. One of my nasty headaches developed, haven’t had one for months. I was set free 10 mins early, managed to drive home, ate pasty that OH had ready, hot shower and to bed early. I feel fragile today. I was so looking forward to a decadent morning at Murattis with Coffee-Friend. Still going, I shall have to avoid cream.
I shouldn’t be moaning. Just read Brenda’s update (thank you) on Margo. I hope dear Margo is feeling better by now.
Oh dear AQ, that sounds like a real Bad Nanny Day! Not to mention the heat.
Hope you can enjoy the morning with friend.
Brenda, Good that you had a brilliant time with family. Is your son in Singapore permanently?
Sorry to hear that Margo is not feeling well. Hope the transfusion helps.
Annette, It does sound as if your OH should have been a history Prof. Wow!, he really comes to Cambridge for summer courses?
I find Medieval history very interesting now (nowhere near your OH's league) All I remember from school history was the coming of the Romans and the Tudor period. It was a long time ago, though. I didn't appreciate history at the time.
