HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
The Full Moon is Tuesday. It's the last of three consecutive perigee full moons (so-called "supermoons"). However, its appearance will be more subtle due to a Minor Lunar Standstill.
We are well into autumn here in Indiana. The winds are gusting today, and the brightly colored leaves are falling. The Texas storm front is flowing into the Midwest, and the remnants of Hurricane Patricia will be over my patch on Tuesday and Wednesday. Not good news for my leaky roof.
I've just been bitten hard on the ankle by a spider, who has painfully reminded me that I really need to clean my house!
Many white-tailed deer have been grazing around my yard this past week, and I've spent a lot of time just watching them. If I stand still and stay quiet, I can view them from the doors and the windows and they aren't bothered by my presence. They're so beautiful; they nourish my soul.
Everyone have a great week and enjoy the moon!
Best wishes to OG and EE. I hope they've had safe travels and OG's treatment regimen will be effective and as easy as possible on her body. Thinking of you, Margo.

A couple more pics from the Flower Show - then I can tackle all the other pics waiting <sigh>
This had water trickling down from the wall at the far end: the woman next to me almost said, in unison with me, "Health & Safety wouldn't like that one!" The stones were all wet..... the water ran down to front of pic. But the planting was pretty.
Another -
Couple more......
Next one supposed to represent surfing: wavy lawn, with foamy white flowers -
Last one made me remark "Weed Garden!"
Good morning all
My mini marathon of grannying is at an end today! Daughter's OH getting home from Belgium. Thank you all for being such good sports as I let off steam.
I have been reading all your posts in the evenings so am up to date.
DIANE - not a fun couple of days for you, methinks. First a spider bite (I think it was ROSY who asked if you saw your attacker) and then having to hang about for a couple of hours while your tyre got fixed. Hope you are feeling less achey now. Has the storm hit you yet?
OG - fingers crossed that you get your workmen today.
LYNETTE - Ouch! Very uncomfortable. My OH suffers occasionally in that way and I have known him take to his bed for a day or two:-(
ANNETTE- My OH was an extra in an episode of a TV series, years ago. He is seen wearing a trilby hat and walking across a bridge! He recorded the appropriate episode of course,in order to capture his moment of fame. Except that I have managed to lose the video tape.
Apart from Hally Racket all my close neighbours seem to be very houseproud. I can tell(!) because they are always washing their outside window sills. Or so it seems to me. Yesterday,OH cut back the rambler rose that grows around the dining room window and in doing so exposed a very dirty window sill. I'll take a long time cleaning it today and hope that someone notices.
BRENDA - not long before your family arrive home for the first visit,I think. I'm sure you said November?
MARGO- thinking about you and hoping that you enjoyed your weekend with your OH.
EVERYONE - have a good day.
LINDY- just saw your pics, will go back and study them. Are you going to the Canaries?
Heather: You must be so relieved that your nannying is coming to an end, its been hard work I know. Hope all is well with your daughter now and she can recover.
No, we thought we were getting boring going to the Canaries for our sunshine, so are off to Malta, where we have not set foot before. Apparently the weather is kind in November. We know someone who has just come back and declared "But it was just a lot of old ruins, nothing to see!!" LOL!!
EDIT: We used to have a neighbour who was mortified that every time her M.in Law visited, she got out a cloth & cleaned all the outside windowsills on their bungalow! "I'm not going to stop her, though" she said "Its one thing less to do myself!"
Just before my OH left, he was talking to the dog: I remarked "She is only standing on three legs!" ~~ she then limped towards me. After investigation, my OH pulled out a huge thorn, must have been a quarter of an inch long, stuck between the foot pads. What a good job we noticed and could take action. I have heard that dogs don't complain of pains, they just get on with it. Aaaaah!
Hi! Not really here - just testing repositioned keyboard and monitor, as OH has lowered them to try to stop my neck getting so painful. Think I need a few days practice to get used to it, but feels somewhat better.
Plumber is here knocking out old shower room (main bathroom); OH has asked to salvage old wallboards into his recently tidied shed! Can imagine J's reaction when he discovers this!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Hi OG - Hope the repositioning works. It must seem a bit strange at first. It must be noisy having the plumber knocking things out of the bathroom - a good thing when he's finished and you can get on to the best bit of getting the new stuff in.
Got my jab done and a couple of other things crossed off my To Do List - now I've just put two more on at the bottom! Sunny here now, and I enjoyed my walk down to local school for my flu jab, as passing lots of pretty tree lined gardens, the leaves are really coming down now though.
Hello All and many thanks for your thoughts. Just a quick post as today we had bad news from the consultant. It would appear the chemo is now struggling to do the job as all my counts are lower. next chemo starts next Monday but this will probably be the last I will receive. Will be having a bone marrow test on November 11 and will see the consultant on 1 December when she will hopefully have the results. Will see the specialist cancer nurse next Tuesday when I will have had another blood test. She will then decide if I need the transfusion as welll as the chemo. As you can imagine we are both very upset and it is hard to have any positive feelings at the moment. Consultant has also looked into other treatments that may be a available but unfortunately there are none at the moment.
Thanks for being with me it has meant such a lot. Will post as and when I feel more cheerful.
Love Margo x
So sorry, MARGO - thanks for sharing. Thinking of you.
